People tend to prefer exciting things such as people making a ton of money and etc. Social media feeds off of this to get people to come back to their sites. In this type of way, they collect a ton of data off people without paying for it. I am hoping Web 3.0 changes this as companies should be paying us for the data. After all, the benefits of the data to find the best ways to sell their product is worth quite a bit.
