I think we just don't have the applications. Threads are nice but it's nowhere close enough to attract people when there is an easier alternative like Twitter. So there need to be two things that need to happen 1) make the onboarding process easier and 2) create polished applications that can compete with the existing applications. Once we have that, I think hive can pop off.
