I was unlucky to get the Close Range battle ruleset to participate in the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! so I kept hunting for a Close Range ruleset.

A Close Range ruleset enables range monsters to attack from the first position, it is a ruleset I enjoy since I have cards like Cornealus with Heal and Thorns abilities.

Normally my Focus chest target for the day is 5, with 5 I am content and I stop playing so my Energy bar replenishes, as seen below I kept battling with the hope of getting Close Rnage ruleset it is the very last Energy bar.

It took me my entire Energy bar to find one, a bit exciting kind of and when I found it I lost the battle. So here I share with you the battle.

Often PELACOR CONJURER is my Tank in Little League battles, due to the Magic Reflect and Flight abilities it has from level 4, though mine is a level 5 for the extra health. Unfortunately in this battle, I don't have a Silence ability card so OBSIDIAN'S magic powers were too heavy for my monsters to deal with.

I probably shouldn't have used CLOCKWORK AIDE in this battle, slowing down my opponent and boosting my lineup with speed didn't work out well for me, I should have thrown another Sneak monster at my opponent's backline or used VULGUINE for the Scavenger ability it has.

STITCH LEECH in the third spot had it bad when it landed in my frontline though it did a good job attacking the enemy backline before its elimination.

My opponent's lineup is of slow monsters except for Failed Summoner with a speed of 2, TIME MAGE in the fourth spot in my lineup comes in with Slow ability, she does have a high speed of attack as well so I wouldn't say she was the weak link in my lineup.

VENARI CRYSTALSMITH takes up the fifth spot in my lineup with a Tank Heal ability. CRYSTALSMITH and CELESTIAL HARPY missed attacks on the opponent Failed Summoner, was that a defining moment that cost me the battle? It could be because my follow-up attack might have given me the edge I seek.

In my backline is CELESTIAL HARPY with Opportunity and Flight abilities, should my opponent attack my backline, the Flight ability of HARPY might be useful. On the second attempt, CRYSTALSMITH and CELESTIAL HARPY hit their target but the damage was done to my lineup then, and victory it was for my opponent.
