When I started back on steem in late 2017, I saw the opportunity of a lifetime where others saw money genies that granted their wishes. One thing with a lot of people i know in Nigeria is that if they see an opportunity to make money, they fail to look beyond futuristic prospects and only focus on the moment, they need free money to get gadgets, free money to pay their bills, free money to live large but they never see it as free money to become reinvested, start up something small and hope for the best for the future. This short term mentality is why a lot of people especially in Africa still fail to understand the concept of blockchain blogging, Crypto and opportunities that comes with it. They don't know how the technology can not just enrich life but establish you.

The cost of living in Nigeria is reality lower and the reason why this is hardly noticed is because the Nigerian currency is highly inflated and money is unfairly distributed, prices aren't regulated properly and the means of income of people are relatively low which makes making and spending money normal here. A person earning averagely okay in the US will comfortably come to Nigeria and live like a wealthy person at the end of the day it's cheap for foreigners to live in Nigeria but expensive for Nigerians to live in Nigeria so how do we then bridge the gap? Crypto, it's adoption, it's holding and reinvesting it when there's the opportunity to earn it for free.

Greed and short-term attitude towards crypto is why many people here cannot build, they feel it's insane to trust a volatile coin, they feel BTC or any of other altcoin is too expensive and hence they can't put their real-time money In. I know of a man who was buying into crypto in late 2016 and he was actually accumulating BTC by putting in a little of his profits. His friends laughed at him despite the fact that they were educated and understood the concept of digital currency and also crypto currency as well. They refused to buy in with him, they said they could only collect for free and sell off instantly if there was an opportunity to earn it and that was the issue. They didn't know how Crypto could be life changing.

They preferred the concept of physical cash and any other opportunities was for them to milk and save it in their bank account. This man that was buying into crypto in late 2016 had an opportunity to invest about one million of Nigerian money and in early 2018 he sold all his BTC and left Just about 10% and he had about eleven million naira to start up a fresh business and his friends felt it was unreal. The truth is that the people are limited by their thinking, crypto adoption in Africa is limited by unbelief, ignorance and not having that "businessman spark" to take calculated risks. In my own situation this wasn't so, I didn't see steem then as a milking machine I wanted a better life for myself and I needed something new and crypto and blockchain blogging provided that.

I am someone who loves to build, there's no business opportunity in Africa that promises the insane growth rate and percentage returns that crypto promises overtime and people are just ignoring it, this isn't me. I love to go the extra mile put in a little bit of risk, test my abilities and mental capacity to predict things like moon, bull or bear, recognise prospects and see opportunities where people would eventually see nothing. Crypto is the future and anyone who's ignoring the blistering opportunities plans to remain a slave to the continuous inflation of the Nigerian currency. In my opinion it virtually need to change. There's nothing that'll stop me because even the lack of opportunities in Nigeria is incomprehensible and I do not want to live it anymore.
