I started learning about Finance, Banking and Economics because it sounded fancy to be knowledgeable in such areas.

By the time I got deeper involved with it, I started to wish for an opportunity to practice all the things I'm learning.

You know, the academic sector never holds back when they are giving you theoretical knowledge. I soaked them all in while constantly waiting for an opportunity to be a key player in the economy. The thought of being 'an investor' was fairly inspiring.

This aligns with what they say about fishermen and fish. You are not a fisherman if you don't smell like fish.

Having theoretical financial knowledge was fascinating, but my true desire was to explore the world of practicals. I was no longer satisfied with talking about inflation, investment, budgeting and co based on some textbook knowledge. I wanted to have first-hand experience of these and how it really impacts things.

So far, I'm excited about the way things are going because the trajectory of how my financial literacy has been growing is an interesting one by my lofty standards. I've learned so much about the practical side of this and I'm still learning.

It got even better when I ventured into Cryptocurrency.

Exploring cryptocurrency and the things it entails has also been an interesting adventure.

It was just like yesterday when I first heard about Crypto. Like many others, I completely called it a scam. It wasn't part of what I saw in my academic syllabus. It was something new and many 'new things' usually face resistance.

'If only I used my school fees back in 2016 to buy Bitcoin'

Haha. I couldn't stop thinking about that.

What a miss?! Maybe, maybe not.

When the time finally came for me to be open-minded about Crypto, I dived into it like a duteous learner. I was not ready to hold back.

I explored and within two years of being involved with Crypto, I can always look back at this journey with pride. So much has happened and more are underway.

Remember, the practical side of things is not always milk and honey.

For example, I did a transfer a few hours ago. It was just a simple transaction of transferring Swap.Hive from my account to another account, but I missed an alphabet in the receiving account's name. And that was bye-bye to my Crypto.

This is a mistake I've made twice before now on Hive and I still made it again. There have also been instances when I was too quick to throw money into projects which ended up being a mess. To crown it all, I can still recall some tokens I dumped for peanut just before they experienced a boom.

All these and more are the tough side of getting into the practical side of the investment. Nonetheless, I'm in the category of people that genuinely believe that there are lessons to be learned in all situations.

I've learned so much so far and I'm glad to have the opportunity to actively explore the practical side of investment and also get practical experience of what it means for inflation to affect a currency... Stuff like that.

It's a wild experience. An adorably wild one.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
