If you read any of my posts on noise.cash or Torum during the week, you are probably already aware that I've been having massive internet issues ever since last weekend. Basically, my downstream is constantly below 1 MB/s and I can't get anything loaded without having to wait a minute or more. It took me 6 rounds of discussion with my ISP until they decided to provide me with a temporary solution which I should receive tomorrow. I'll make the whole story into a proper article once it's resolved but the whole thing really serves to show just how dependent we are on having access to the internet.

Consequentially, my crypto activity was at an all time low this week and I didn't make much progress in most of my projects. I've had some internal discussion whether I want to skip my Play2Earn Report for the week but ultimately decided to still publish it as a means of tracking my (meager) progress. So expect this edition of the Play2Earn Report to be a little smaller than what you are used to. If all goes well, I should be back to normal tomorrow so next week I should be back with daily articles and a proper report at the end of the week. Fingers crossed...

Anyway, here's a look at my progress in terms of tokens:

TokenAmountIncrease
Hive6,47395
LEO7,06419
CTP8,8491,692
SPT57,1181,287
XTM??4,773?????

I can't even load Torum right now so I have no clue how things progressed there but I assume not much happened without any activity from me. I've failed to achieve 10,000 CTP which was my target for the week. This is partly due to my low activity level but also partly due to the amazing increase in value it has seen over the last few days. I did my part in promoting the token and others followed. I'm super happy that I managed to buy almost 8,000 CTP before the pump, this certainly has been my best buy this year so far. I still aim to get as close as possible to 20,000 CTP before the end of the month but I don't think that's possible any longer. There's also an active CTP-Power-Up-Challenge run by @ctpsb that started just yesterday. I'm certainly going to compete there and hope to win some CTPSB tokens in the process.

Now let's have a quick look at the little I have to tell about my games this week:

Splinterlands

Luckily, Splinterlands really doesn't require much downstream to play so I at least was able to complete my daily quests and compete in my tournaments. So far, I've placed in the money in all tournaments that I've played and my ranked matches have been going pretty good as well.

I'm really happy with my 60% win rate especially and I feel like I can really compete with any player in the roster in my strong splinters by now. I'd still need a ton of different cards to have the right play for every rule set, though. I've decided to buy some new cards again and thanks to some great videos made by @clove71, I've decided to focus on completing my Beta collection before there are no more copies left. This week I've acquired those two gentlemen:

The Cocatrice is an amazingly versatile play and can swing a battle all on its own. Keep it out of magic attack's way and it can dodge attack after attack. It's a great play at the back if you expect your opponent to go with a Sneak build and he's also great in the front if there's no magic in the field. The Serpentine Soldier is another versatile tank in the fire Splinter. Fire is already my strongest Splinter and while it might actually be the better call to improve my other splinters first, I just love playing Fire too much and since there was a super cheap copy on the market when I checked, I went with him first. I've found myself toying around with Pyre more recently and the Serpentine Soldier is a perfect fit for high speed builds.

Say what you want about Pay2Win issues Splinterlands might have, it's an amazing game with an amazing community and admittedly. It's my favorite game on and off blockchain for almost 9 months now and few games ever managed to keep me interested for such a long time!

Rabona

Rabona I hear you say? Yes, Rabona! Some time ago, I did an article on why I quit the game. Many of the issues are still valid and I don't say that I will stay active again now. But when I wrote the article, I've noticed that there were only two active teams in my league so I kept an eye on that. This season, there was not a single active team in my league 3 so I decided to pick up some random players from the market. Since I was the only active player in the league, I've moved back up to league 2 without opposition. We'll see how things go in league 2, but for now I feel like a pretty clever guy for catching the opportunity.

eXode

I've did an article on eXode just yesterday, so I'll keep this one short. This weekend, Alpha 2 will start and I'm pretty excited to finally playtest the 2nd stage of eXode-gameplay. If you didn't read the excellent announcement article by @elindos yet, you can find it here. I really hope to have my internet issues figured out until the Alpha launches but then I expect the tests to go on for a few weeks or even months before we move on to Alpha 3 and Colonization.

Rising Star

Rising Star was the game that suffered the most from my connection issues. As it was next to unplayable on my computer, I've been playing through my mobile for the whole week. This lead to me forgetting to start another mission more often than not and consequentially cost me a lot of mission minutes for the leaderboard. I've lost some places and I'm now sitting at #39.

On the bright side, I should have enough Starbits collected for another round of 12-packs tomorrow. Not looking to imply anything here, but, you know, finally finding another legendary in these boosters would be pretty awesome. I'm pretty torn on what to do after the next purchase, though.

@r1s2g3 did a great article on whether you should buy packs or singles coming to the conclusion that singles are probably the better value proposition right now. Thing is, rares don't really help me all that much while hitting one of these legendary cards would be a real boost. I'll see how things go but I'll probably keep buying 12-packs for now, especially after the game introduced some new cards which I don't own yet.

Conclusion

Sadly, that's already it for the week. Many of my other games simply weren't playable at all. Nevertheless, thank you all for reading and I hope to see you next time with a more complete article!
