Goooooood morning folks

I hope you're doing well today! I'm doing great, myself. Enjoying some coffee while listening to the rain. Seems it's going to be rainy as hell for the next few days. Looking at the crypto market this morning got me thinking... Bitcoin is back over $50,000, Ethereum sitting around $3500, and BNB is at $441. I look at these 3 cryptos to get a general feel for the market since they're some of the most popular. It is Uptober, after all.

Airdrop Scams

You might find yourself checking your wallet address on bscscan for whatever reason and find that you have a shitload of random tokens sitting in your wallet. You might also check the "value" of those tokens on pancakeswap or whatever DEX you like to use. You'll find that a lot of them are worth a hilarious amount of money. In order to swap them, you have to approve the token contract in your wallet, and by the time you try to swap them, your wallet gets emptied. Either that will happen, or the transaction will fail and you'll be frustrated and head to their scam website. These are called Airdrop Scams, and they're pretty fucking rampant on BSC because of its low fees and often new crypto users. I love BSC, but it can be a bit of a cess pool. Let's take a look at some of these scam tokens and see how they steal your money.

Some popular scams are called MNEB and VELO. Both of which direct you to their website to pay some insane fee to "unlock" your fake tokens that will never be tradeable. Once you pay the fee and approve access to the scam website, your wallet gets emptied. There is no liquidity for these tokens, nor can they be exchanged at all. When I copy the contract address for my 150,000 MNEB tokens into pancakeswap, they're "valued" at 6.36 BNB, which is a good amount of money that might lead you down a path of desperation or curiosity to their scam website.

Another one that's probably sitting in your wallet right now is ShibaDrop. Complete scam. Don't fuck with it. It's not the SHIB you're thinking of.

They're supposedly worth 2 BNB, which is a lot of money to some people.

Saved the best for last. These are all randomly in my wallet and completely worthless. Zepe.io takes you to this fancy looking website that says SCAM right on the front page! It's also worth 56 fucking BNB! What! I got 2 of these airdrops, so I must be fucking rich. This is obviously sarcasm, do not fall for this scam.

If I were to create a scam token that I want people to trust, I'd probably say that it helps prevent scams. Smart. "A recent study we conducted seems to indicate that 73% of the shitcoins listed turn out to be scams. We decided to do something about it." Very professional. Clearly what they decided to do about it was create their own scam coin and try to make it look good against other scam coins.

The moral... Don't fuck with random shitcoins that appear in your wallet and claim to be worth shitloads of money.

They're completely worthless and the goal is to try to get access to steal funds in your wallet.

Don't get scammed.
