Exploring Miller Lite's Bar in Decentraland - Win Free Beer & Cash!
frens, you may or may not know that I'm quite fond of beer. I don't typically drink a ton of it, but I do quite enjoy a nice cold glass of brewski every now and then. I'm not one of those guys that only drinks micro-brews or IPA's though. I'm happy with a few Miller Lite's or anything not too heavy on the stomach. That being said, my avatar in Decentraland definitely likes to pound a few cold ones.
Miller Lite's Meta Lite Bar
I've done my fair share of exploring different metaverse experiences between Decentraland and The Sandbox. Major companies and brands have been buying land and building different experiences to capitalize on the metaverse craze. I have personally explored experiences from Samsung, Atari, and many more. I've shared a few of them here on Hive so you can get a taste of it even if you don't have a device capable of checking it out for yourself. Last night, I came across a tweet that said Miller Lite had built a metaverse experience in Decentraland. I knew what I had to do. It was time to whip out the ole' avatar and get lit in the metaverse. Have I said "metaverse" enough? Let's dive in! So right off the bat, I took a stroll around the bar and I love the aesthetic. Very rustic. Very much what you would expect from Miller Lite. The people's beer. The bar is open now and you can explore daily for a chance to win beer. On 2/13, tomorrow, the "game" opens up where you can potentially win more stuff.
Of course, just like a regular bar, you need to verify that you're of age to enter the Meta Lite bar. Kinda stupid, they don't actually verify. You just enter your "date of birth" and go on. I thought it was funny when I saw the pop-up.
It's just like a real bar. I couldn't tell you the last time I went to an actual bar, but this feels pretty damn close. It's a metaverse dive bar. You walk in and immediately need a beer. The vibe was definitely right. This is all related to Superbowl Sunday of course. The dude I ran into with the weed leaf wings got me. That's fuckin awesome lol.
Of course, like most of these experiences, there's a photo booth set up. The idea here is to get users to take a selfie and tweet it. Of course I did so. Maybe I'll win some swag or something.
Tucked away in the corner, there's a POAP booth! POAP is the Proof of Attendance Protocol. It's an NFT that proves that you attended an event. Pretty cool and I always enjoy collecting another POAP. Will have to hop back in tomorrow to collect that bad boi.
When you go behind the bar, you'll find the Golden Beer Tap. When you interact with it, you'll be greeted with a pop-up that takes you to a website to enter to win $500 in cash! This can be done once a day til the end of the event. Unfortunately, I didn't win last night. Maybe today!
It kind of annoyed me that they said "enter to play for a chance to win $500 cash (real, not crypto)". What the hell is that supposed to mean, Miller??? I know that people joke about cryptocurrency being magic internet money but in reality, I'd rather receive $500 worth of crypto. Still very cool of them to build this experience for the SuperBowl.
