There live Heroes in the DeFi Kingdoms

Everyone here knows what DeFi is, of course. I mean, we have CubDefi in-house. So I'm not even going to waste any more words on that. But who among you knew that in addition to the Cub Kingdoms that we all know, there is also a complete DeFi Kingdom?

For most people, DeFi will consist of farming rewards. But are there actually people here who know that it's completely gamified?

In DeFi Kingdoms it is!

Yup, a whole world has been built where the DeFi applications are offered in a game form. DeFi Kingdoms! And that of course makes it even more fun!

What is the story of the DeFi Kingdoms?

Now I can start writing a beautiful fairy tale in the form of “Once upon a time, …”, or “Long long ago in the land of, …”. But I'll limit myself to what I could find so quickly.

The DeFi Kingdoms can be found somewhere in the metaverse. And it is said that the peoples who inhabited the metaverse once lived in harmony, worshiping the Goddess Gaia. Unfortunately, here too a disruptive factor came into play, in the form of the urge for power and development that we as humans have. This has polluted the earth and made it sick.

Irae, god and protector of Gaia, has become very angry with humanity for this, and paradise has fallen apart. Humanity seems lost. Emphasis on LOOKS!

There is in fact a small group of people who have continued to honor Gaia. And for a millennium, Irae has let her rage on DeFi Kingdoms, causing all sorts of misery. Don't make gods angry! Now that peace has reasonably returned, all kinds of small kingdoms have arisen in various parts of the metaverse. This is therefore completely decentralized. And at about this point, you might come into play.

You, and so do your fellow players, together with the heroes, play a very important role in building the kingdoms.

The kingdoms have also discovered a special crystal, the JEWEL. Oh la la, who doesn't like to own a few jewels? These jewels are just about the most important of the whole game. The whole ecosystem built around it, and they might be very attractive tokens for you to acquire and own as well.

This game is still very young! The map of the DeFi kingdom was only revealed last August. And with this reveal, what DeFi Kingdoms is, and what it might become, has become a little more visible. In fact, it's so young that not everything in the game is working yet. But there are plenty of things that DO work. And that already makes it interesting.

JEWEL

The DeFi Kingdoms (JEWEL) token is the fuel of the DeFi Kingdoms ecosystem. This token has a lot of possibilities. It is a means of payment within the kingdom to purchase assets. But it is also a means you need to complete quests. The JEWELS are also a reward for staking or used for lending. Furthermore, it is also a governance token. This means that with the token you have the right to vote on proposals, on the further development of the platform.

The DeFi Kingdoms (JEWEL) tokens have a hard cap of 10,000,000 jewels. With a pre-minting, the coins are distributed as follows:

  • 5,000,000 JEWELS goes to development funds. This portion of the tokens will be secured and used for further development of the game. When new parts of the game are launched, they are released. The funds are held in a multisig wallet that can only be accessed after signing from all founders.

  • 2,000,000 JEWELS are used for promotion of the game, for example marketing, airdrops etc.

  • 2,000,000 JEWELS are for initial liquidity, so to guarantee the necessary liquidity at the start.

  • 1,000,000 JEWELS will be used for rewards for the team and other employees and volunteers for their work before the launch.

The Marketplace and DEX

JEWELS are available on the DEX, the decentralized exchange, of the DeFi Kingdoms with the token One. This is the token of Harmony, the ecosystem that DeFi Kingdoms runs on. One is for sale through a number of central exchanges.

The JEWELS are the power source on which the Kingdoms run, the marketplace is the heart of the kingdom. And this marketplace is built again on the UniSwap V2 system. Although the market has the appearance of a medieval marketplace, it offers you all the comforts and functionalities of the current era. At the moment, this marketplace offers you the choice of 35 different tokens.

Bank

A very nice part is the bank. Designed as a kind of magic vault where you can deposit JEWELS and thus stake. You will receive xJEWELS shares for this. A percentage of every transaction with JEWELS in the kingdom is deposited to JEWELS in the bank, of which xJEWEL holders are rewarded.

Gardens

And then we arrived at the DeFi part of the Kingdoms. The gardens! In the gardens, you can stake LP (liquidity provider) tokens. If you make tokens available for the pools here, you literally let the value grow. These gardens are literally a magical visualization of a liquidity pool. Each garden shows the development of a pair in a pool. Your harvest is neatly stored for you in your garden shed, and here you can claim your harvest. Now, this is what I call a real visualization of yield farming. The APY in these Gardens offer beautiful perspectives.

It all looks beautiful, you can describe it as fairy tale. But be careful! We are talking about real financial products here! So if a token goes down, and you risk incurring a significant loss, it will not magically grow back in your garden. Again, profits can be high, but losses can be just as big!

Heroes Tavern

The Heroes Tavern opened in September 2021, but is not yet functional. What can you expect from this? This will be the NFT marketplace, where the Heroes NFTs can be traded.

Summoning

Since everything is magical, of course, you need a Druid to make his magic work for you. And you can! The Druid can summon a new hero for you. He uses the genes of various heroes for this. This new hero again has its own unique mix of traits. The Druid does this summoning in the Portal, where the Heroes are also launched.

The Heroes

The Heroes themselves! Those are the unique NFTs, non-fungible tokens, that you can collect. But in addition to the collectible value, these Heroes are also usable in the game.

They possess traits and qualities you need to complete your quests and tasks! For example, some quests you can think of could be:

  • Working in the mine
  • Fishing
  • Gardening
  • Collect food
  • Win a battle

Quest are not released yet!

These quests will be released in the fall of 2021. What you already understand, especially if you are also familiar with Splinterlands, is that the properties and qualities of the heroes will differ in rarity.

Genes

For example, the heroes have 2 types of genes that determine their value and strength. The first kind of gene determines appearance. The second gene determines what the hero can do, for example, whether he is a miner or a collector. At certain times, it is possible that genes will also mutate, leading to new properties.

The heroes are released in different generations. Gen 0 launched in September 2021. All these heroes were sold out in just 11 minutes. Gen 0 will become the ancestors of the generations of heroes who will populate the kingdoms. They can also reproduce alone and so are likely to gain a high value within (and outside) the Kingdoms.

Stats

At DeFi, statistics are very important and therefore also for the heroes. The stats indicate the potential and possibilities of a Hero. All the stats are also indicated with the hero.

Below you will find a brief overview of the different stats:

  • Hitpoints - This represents a hero's overall fitness. Even a hero sometimes has an off day and can get injured. The HP can then be restored with rest and potions.

  • Mana points - These are used to cast spells and skills. If you reach a zero point with your Mana, you can no longer use it until you are charged with a potion.

  • Stamina - This is the power or energy you need to complete a quest.

  • Strength - Allows you to increase the effect of your skills and energy.

  • Dexterity - This makes up the power of your weapons.

  • Agility - Determines the amount of time between battles to recover.

  • Vitality - This helps determine HP and speed of recovery.

  • Endurance - This strengthens the defense mechanism.

  • Intelligence - Intelligence allows a hero to deploy weapons tactically.

  • Wisdom - Enhances a hero's magical powers.

  • Luck - A lot depends on fate and luck in life, even for a hero.

Team & foundation

Now we've talked about the heroes before, but the real heroes are of course the founders of the DeFi kingdoms. Their unique take on DeFi makes this part of crypto even more fun than it already was!

The team is also unknown outside the metaverse. Of course, this immediately reminds me of Satoshi. And let's face it, it didn't do much harm to Bitcoin that no one knew who it was. Perhaps in the case of DeFi Kingdoms, too, this secrecy actually only makes the game and the story stronger.

Roadmap

Like I said, the game is still in development. But that is precisely why a good Roadmap is very important. Although the team behind the project is shrouded in mystery for now, the roadmap is as clear as the most beautiful jewel!

So far, the plans are also well on schedule. Although this whole game is built to make DeFi more fun, to gamify, the team has thought very carefully about everything. For example, various audits have been carried out for safety and reliability.

In addition to that, the team consciously chose the Harmony ecosystem to build the Kingdoms. Why? Because this team doesn't want to exclude many people from their game in advance. The Harmony Blockchain has low gas fees, especially compared to Ethereum (ETH). And the transaction speed is also many times higher.

The Roadmap consists of 6 Phases, of which Phase 1 started in the summer of 2021. Phase 6 will take place approximately in late 2021, or early 2022.

Phase 1: Create Community Phase 2: Capitals & Jewels Phase 3: Heroes & Quests Phase 4: Kingdoms & Land Phase 5: Buildings Phase 6: Equipments Phase 7: Battle System, PVE & PVC

How do you play DeFi Kingdoms?

As you can see, DeFi Kingdoms is not one particular game that can only be played one way. You can purely use the DeFi applications and start staking, trading or lending tokens. But you can also dive into the NFT market and collect a valuable collection of Heroes. Or from the autumn of 2021 you can also let your Heroes go on expeditions and carry out assignments.

Furthermore, from the last quarter of 2021 you can also buy and sell land, produce or build products to earn income in the Kingdoms.

You will need to create an account with avatar to start this game. Metamask is a safe option to use as a wallet. ONE tokens should be in your wallet, a few jewels in your wallet, which you can buy through the marketplace… and then it's a matter of how you want to play the game.

Conclusion

I really enjoy seeing these kinds of games come out now. Because to be honest I've missed that until now. My partner likes games, but games, and would like to play a play2earn. But for a game like Splinterlands I can't get it excited. (sorry Splinterlands). Lost Relics just doesn't manage to be admitted, so that wasn't a success either. Who knows, I might get him interested in DeFi Kingdoms. I'm going to try it anyway.

In my opinion, it is a game that offers the opportunity to earn crypto in a new way, where fun and lucrative can come together. The fact that the game is still in development only makes it interesting to keep an eye on it.
