Roles of Engagement

It's the prize of course lol!

I have just recently joined Hive. Yup. Although I have been in Steemit (and still is), I haven't started with Hive when it forked. With whatever earnings I have with Steemit and Hive, I just left it there.

Some weeks ago, I was tagged in a post by Asher and was surprised that it was about Engagement League. In that post, I got lucky to be rewarded by bengy.

This got me excited knowing that there is also a league here in Hive!

During my Steemit days, I belonged in the top 10 most engaged users, at least those who joined in the league. If I remember it right, the highest position I had was second place. It's a challenge competing with others especially if there are other things that you do offline and you can't be in that platform all the time. I'm sure you know how it is.

I got competitive still but not enough to reach the top. I tried.
I'm not sure if those I got to compete with that time in Steemit are also here in Hive.

There were prizes given of course for being at the top but I don't remember now how much did I accumulate back then.

However, all good things come to an end at least for me. I believe I opted out of league because of certain reasons outside of the platform.

We all know that platforms just like this it is all about connecting with other people. We find those who share the same ideas, same hobbies, same beliefs, same dislikes. It is all about engagement. That's why it is called "social" media.

To socialize means you also grow your account here.

So I started being more active here in Hive. Since I got tagged in that Engagement post, I managed to put myself in the twelfth spot for two consecutive weeks and with that, I was lucky enough to earn 10 Hive, 5 Hive each week. Thanks to the generosity of johannpiber.

I was aiming for the 10th spot at least but I guess for now 12 is my lucky number.

With that 10 Hive that I have earned, I now look forward to the Hive Power Up Day which according to the counter, happening in 14 hours or less as of this writing. This will be my first time to join power up day. I don't recall if there was a power up day in Steemit before.

So what I am trying to say here is that be more engaged. Join contests if you want. Know more about others to help grow your account. While it is good that you get to earn here through your posts, it's more fun knowing that you share the same interests with others and getting to know them more. I honestly aimed for the prize back then when I first joined the league but as I continued getting to know more about others, I learned a lot and the earnings just came second.

Engagement is rewarding for not only do you earn more in tokens but you also learn and grow more with others.

So join the Engagement League and give Asher more work to do lol!
