Stand for Brazil-Russia-China-India-South Africa (BRICS)
The singular form, BRIC, is the same, except it leaves off South Africa.
These are considered the leading developing nations and often form an alliance to increase their economic might. They often try to counter what the developed nations (the West and Japan/Australia) are doing.
