First 3-D printed home in Florida being constructed.

This is really spreading. I wonder where this will be a year from now.

"This is the future," said Chase Miller, the founder of the construction development firm Urban Land Co., who flew from Ohio to watch the first day. "There are so many possibilities with this technology and it can really help people."

Miller said because the printer can build houses so quickly, it will be a great asset for hurricane relief efforts.

As long the house is efficient and if costs are way down compare to conventional house. there will be a huge demand for it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think there will plenty more but I expect heavy legal battles soon as those construction companies and unions see the danger to their livelihood.

This could be one of the solutions for the high lumber prices. It could also be a great way to provide shelter for the homeless. I wonder if the 3-D printed homes are recyclable.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I don't think they are, at least not now but maybe someday

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good to see this technology being put to use. I think it's here to stay

I wonder if those would be suitable for cold regions? It looks like they have an inner space that's possibly for insulation.

It's such an exciting news to hear.

It's so unbelievable, hope to see how this turns out years to come, we might be seeing another future for house construction

China unveils fastest train.

Give them credit, they Chinese can build some stuff.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

1

Would you trust a Chinese train built purely for show?

Fuck that.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

1

Yea they have been focusing on travel (trains specifically) with the one belt one road initiative.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I hope those things can float. With all the dams bursting, literally, I'd hate to be travelling the countryside at those speeds when the dam breaks.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hope the US adopt this route.
HUM!! That will put pressure on Ford, GM, etc..
to build cheaper cars.
Control always part of the equation.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

adopting it is a great idea but even if they do i don't think Ford, GM and other auto mobile companies will reduce the cost of the cars they built.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The problem here is that passenger trains have to share the same track with freight trains, which if I remember correctly, have priority.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

wow that country is something else, i don't know there plans in technology because the pull some weight once it comes to technology.

On the topic of chinese transport, I've always wondered about the quality of the cars they manufacture, particularly from brands like Changan and Haval. They are EXTREMELY affordable with a so many jampacked features that you'd only find in a Mercedes.

What really baffles me is how they managed to make it so cheap. I think they had to cheap out on the engine to make it so.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

Not sure how they make them so cheap (I'd think it's because they have cheap labor) but the quality is there, at least in some cases. A friend had a Chinese car (can't remember the brand, but it wasn't either of those you mentioned) and I remember it being actually very nice.

That they can
Very impressive

I hope that everyone that wants to is able to go. I am not comfortable enough with the safety aspects let alone the cost.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea I am wondering whether or not Bezos would really want to stay away from Earth or just let some employees handle it due to safety reasons.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

1

I wish I could afford it. I would totally get on board!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

2

Some day. Prices come down. Crypto goes up....

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

It looks pretty safe from start to finish.
I was hoping to go higher and spend and hour or two and come back. That would be really space for me.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

1

Yea the trip itself doesn't really take them out long enough. I was hoping for it to be like a few day trip so people could see the scenery.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

At least they should go one round around earth and come back. That would be considered space for me. I think this part demand more planning and more dangerous with re-entry and everything we know about.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

Look at that. They just figure out how to get people into space and already we want "more". lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

1

That didn't take long! It's surprising due to the current health situation and the battering the econony took. But I suppose, those that have, spend.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

Yeah there is going to be a lot of interest in the early stages. People with a lot of money who dont know what to do with it. LOL

No spaceships for me. I do not even like riding in airplanes.
