the end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter
I love decentralisation and the world of blockchains and as a consequence I follow and play several blockchain-based games. The latest game I decided to play is Dcrops (https://www.dcrops.com/).
If this is the first time you've heard of the game Dcrops I'll briefly explain what it is.
What is Dcrops?
Dcrops is a blockchain-based farming simulation game that runs on the Hive blockchain. It is a game that has only been available to play for a short time and is in an early development phase: the Alpha version.
The aim of the game is to buy land in which you can plant seeds to grow plants which, after a certain period of time, produce fruits that you can sell.
The land and seeds are the NFTs of the Dcrops game. As in the real world in the game of dCrops there are 4 seasons (summer, spring, autumn and winter), but they only last for 15 days. LAND cards can be used in every season, while SEED cards can only be used in a specific season. The crops grown can be sold for Share points. Share points allow you to enter the fortnightly ranking, which has a reward pool consisting of a quantity of **CROP tokens.
Players are rewarded at the end of each season with a certain amount of CROP tokens depending on the total amount of Shares points earned during the season.
CROP tokens can be withdrawn from the in-game wallet and can be sent to the Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex wallet.
Once withdrawn, CROP tokens become second level Hive tokens and are called dCrops Token**.
My first Dcrops report
With today's post I am starting to publish seasonal reports (every 15 days) on the game of Dcrops. These reports will help me evaluate my investment in the Dcrops game and I hope they will also be useful to those of my readers who are considering joining this new farming game.
Farming games are games that require little time but at the same time require an initial investment and for this reason I consider them more than games as real investments.
In fact Dcrops is not a free game and to start playing you need to buy card packs or cards from the in-game market.
The cost of a card pack is $2 and each pack contains 5 cards with the guarantee that at least one card is of rare type or better.
To buy packs of cards you can pay with HIVE tokens or CROP tokens.
Two months ago I bought 10 packs of cards and spent 18,574 HIVE.
Two months ago HIVE was worth much more than today and now to buy 10 packs of cards you need 58,797 HIVE.
Right now, buying a pack of dcrops cards using HIVE tokens as a payment method costs 5,796 HIVE while using CROP tokens sold on Hive Engine costs less: 4.8 HIVE.
The other alternative is to place a BID on Hive Engine and try to get an even lower price for the CROP token purchase.
The end of Autumn and the beginning of Winter
The winter season is underway in the dcrops game.
The current season is the fourth season since the game started. The first two seasons were test seasons with reduced rewards while the previous season (Autumn) was the first season with a Reward Pool of 500000 CROP tokens.
Since completing the previous seasons I have received a total of 561.40 CROP tokens as a reward.
If I wanted to sell the CROP tokens that I have earned so far at the value of the best purchase offer I would get 0.84 HIVE.

My strategy on Dcrops
* I will not be selling my CROP tokens and the strategy I have decided to follow is as follows:
- I will only buy seed cards from the dcrops market if I have Land cards with free and unused Plots
- the CROP tokens that I will earn from the fortnightly ranking I will invest in the purchase of packs of cards (1 pack of cards = 2000 CROP tokens)
- when I have more seed cards than I can use in a season, I will sell these cards on the internal market of dCrops.
In order to follow my strategy before the start of the current season I bought some seed cards from the dCrops market.
As you can see from the pictures below, I bought:

8 Peas seeds and I spent 4 HIVE.

3 Radish seeds and I spent 1.02 HIVE.
This season I have many more seeds planted than the previous season and should get a bigger reward.

The total cost of my investment in Dcrops is given by the sum of the cost of the packs of cards I bought and the cost of the seed cards I bought from Dcrops' internal market.
Total cost: 23,594 HIVE (18,574 + 4 + 1.02)

Will Dcrops be a good investment?
Final Considerations

This is a premature question to answer because the game started very recently. As I've written before I consider Farming games to be investments rather than games and every investment always has a risk factor to consider and evaluate.
Dcrops will be a good investment if many players decide to play and invest in buying CROP cards and tokens.
In my opinion Dcrops is a game that has potential because:
- it is easy to understand and play
- it has essential but very nice graphics
- it requires little time to play.
After the end of the current season of Dcrops I will have more data and in my next fortnightly report I will start to calculate the ROI and Profit of my investment in Dcrops.
In this my first Dcrops report I have only calculated the amount of HIVE needed to reach my Break-Even point. For the calculation of the Break-Even point I have only considered the value of the rewards received (CROP tokens) and I have not considered the value of the cards in my card collection because in the Dcrops market it is not possible to make a BID and therefore I cannot know the immediately monetisable value of my card collection.
For the time being I consider this a positive result because with only one season completed (the first two were test seasons) I have recovered 3.56% of my initial investment.

Il mio primo Report di DCROPS: Considerazioni
Amo la decentralizzazione e il mondo delle blockchains e di conseguenza seguo e gioco a diversi giochi basati su blockchain. L'ultimo gioco a cui ho deciso di giocare è Dcrops** (https://www.dcrops.com/).
Se è la prima volta che senti parlare del gioco di Dcrops ti spiego in breve cos'è.
Dcrops è un gioco di simulazione agricola basato su blockchain che gira sulla blockchain di Hive. E' un gioco a cui è possibile giocare da poco tempo ed è un gioco in una fase di sviluppo iniziale: la versione Alpha.
Lo scopo del gioco è di comprare dei terreni nei quali piantare dei semi per far crescere delle piante che dopo un determinato intervallo di tempo producono dei frutti che è possibile vendere in cambio di punti "Share".
I terreni e i semi sono gli NFT del gioco di dcrops. Come nel mondo reale nel gioco di dCrops ci sono 4 stagioni (estate, primavera, autunno e inverno) che però hanno una durata di soli 15 giorni. Le carte terreno (Land) possono essere usate in ogni stagione mentre le carte seme (SEED) possono essere usate soltanto in una stagione specifica. I frutti ottenuti dalla coltivazione possono essere venduti in cambio di punti Share. I punti Share permettono di entrare nella classifica quindicinale che ha una reward pool costituita da un quantitativo di token **CROP.
I giocatori vengono premiati alla fine di ogni stagione con un certo quantitativo di token CROP che dipende dal totale dei punti Shares ottenuti durante la stagione.
I token CROP possono essere prelevati dal wallet interno al gioco e possono essere inviati sul wallet di Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex.
Una volta prelevati, i token CROP diventano token di secondo livello di Hive e si chiamano dCrops Token**.
Il mio primo report di Dcrops
Con il post di oggi inizio a pubblicare dei report stagionali (ogni 15 giorni) sul gioco di dcrops. Questi report mi aiuteranno a valutare il mio investimento nel gioco di Dcrops e spero possano essere utili anche a chi dei miei lettori sta valutando di iscriversi a questo nuovo gioco di farming.
I giochi di farming sono giochi che richiedono poco tempo ma allo stesso tempo richiedono un investimento iniziale e per questo motivo io li considero più che giochi dei veri investimenti.
Infatti Dcrops non è un gioco gratuito e per iniziare a giocare è necessario acquistare dei pacchi di carte o delle carte dal mercato interno al gioco.
Il costo di un pacco di carte è di 2$ e ogni pacco contiene 5 carte con la garanzia che almeno una carta è di tipo rara o superiore.
Per comprare i pacchi di carte è possibile pagare con i token HIVE o con i token CROP.
Due mesi fa ho comprato 10 pacchi di carte e ho speso 18.574 HIVE
Due mesi fa HIVE valeva molto più di oggi e adesso per comprare 10 pacchi di carte sono necessari 58.797 HIVE.
In questo momento comprare un pacco di carte di dcrops utilizzando come metodo di pagamento i token HIVE costa 5.796 HIVE mentre utilizzando i token CROP in vendita su Hive Engine il costo è inferiore: 4.8 HIVE.
L'altra alternativa è piazzare un'offerta di acquisto BID su Hive Engine e cercare di ottenere un prezzo ancora inferiore per l'acquisto dei token CROP.

Nel gioco di dcrops è in corso la stagione invernale.
La stagione in corso è la quarta stagione da quando è partito il gioco. Le prime due stagioni sono state stagioni di test con premi ridotti mentre la stagione precedente (Autunno) è stata la prima stagione con una Reward Pool di 500000 token CROP.
Dal completamento delle stagioni precedenti ho ricevuto in totale come ricompensa 561.40 token CROP.
Se volessi vendere i token CROP che ho guadagnato fino ad ora al valore della migliore offerta di acquisto otterrei 0.84 HIVE.
La mia strategia su Dcrops
Non venderò i miei token CROP e la strategia che ho deciso di seguire è la seguente:
- acquisterò dal mercato di dcrops le carte seme solo se ho carte Land con Plots liberi e inutilizzati
- i token CROP che guadagnerò dalla classifica quindicinale li investirò nell'acquisto di pacchi di carte (1 pacco di carte = 2000 token CROP)
- quando avrò un numero di carte seme superiore al numero di carte seme utilizzabili in una stagione venderò queste carte nel mercato interno di dCrops.
Per seguire la mia strategia prima dell'inizio della stagione in corso ho acquistato alcune carte seme dal mercato di dcrops.
Come puoi vedere dalle immagini seguenti, ho acquistato:

8 semi Peas e ho speso 4 HIVE.

3 semi Radish e ho speso 1.02 HIVE.
In questa stagione ho molti più semi piantati rispetto alla stagione precedente e dovrei ottenere una ricompensa maggiore.

Il costo totale del mio investimento su Dcrops è dato dalla somma del costo dei pacchi di carte acquistati e dal costo di acquisto delle carte seme che ho comprato dal mercato interno di Dcrops.
Costo totale: 23.594 HIVE (18.574 + 4 + 1.02)

Dcrops sarà un buon investimento?
Considerazioni Finali

Questa è una domanda prematura a cui rispondere perchè il gioco è iniziato molto di recente. Come ho scritto prima considero i giochi di Farming degli investimenti più che dei giochi e ogni investimento ha sempre un fattore di rischio da considerare e valutare.
Dcrops sarà un buon investimento se molti giocatori decideranno di giocare e di investire nell'acquisto di carte e token CROP.
Secondo la mia opinione Dcrops è un gioco che ha del potenziale perchè:
- è semplice da capire e da giocare
- ha una grafica essenziale ma molto carina
- richiede poco tempo da dedicarci.
Dopo la fine della stagione in corso di Dcrops avrò più dati e nel mio prossimo report quindicinale inizierò a calcolare il ROI e il Profitto del mio investimento su Dcrops.
In questo mio primo report di Dcrops ho calcolato solo il quantitativo di HIVE necessario per raggiungere il mio punto di Break-Even. Per il calcolo del punto di Break-Even ho considerato solo il valore delle ricompense ricevute (token CROP) e non ho considerato anche il valore delle carte della mia collezione di carte perchè nel mercato di Dcrops non è possibile fare un'offerta di acquisto BID e di conseguenza non posso conoscere il valore immediatamente monetizzabile della mia collezione di carte.
Per il momento ritengo questo risultato positivo perchè con una sola stagione effettiva coclusa (le prime due erano di test) ho recuperato il 3.56% del mio investimento iniziale.
