How to Grow your account (fast) as a NEWBIE?

Hi all, Today I want to share with you how I grew my account “relatively fast” in 2 months, my experiences and who inspired me to write this post.
When I found HIVE and joined, it was just 8 December 2021. That means I’m still a ”Newbie aka a Red Fish”. (not sure until how long you still can say you are a newbie 😉 my guess is when you go up a level? Or be on Hive for 6 months? But Please correct me on this when I’m wrong I actually have no idea)
To be precise I am today a 70 DAY OLD NEWBIE.
My reputation score (Rep in short, used by many😉) is 62.2 at the moment, which I am also proud of.
This is how Hive measures what you brought to the community, “your level of engagement” so to say.
I do notice it goes slower up now then it did last month.

When I joined Hive, I entered a whole new world I never knew existed. I had no other person introducing me or guiding me in the beginning.
Somehow I managed to get my account set up, a wallet and all the keys were sorted out, and kept safe (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT). I remember those first steps were quite some large steps.
I signed up through @ecency one of Hive’s platforms/ apps, this resulted in me getting an HP Delegation from @good-karma for a month. What helped a lot the first month. Without a delegation, you just can’t do anything and have to wait till you are recharged.
So it is great to see the community is helping the Newbies getting started. Well done all that support us 😁
My First days on HIVE:
In the beginning I posted my introduction post and another post after that, I remember commenting on a few posts and upvoted a lot, that instantly drained my ENTIRE RC’s. 😳 (Resource Credit) oops… what happened❓❓❓❓ I didn’t understand what was wrong. I couldn’t post anything, upvote or even comment anymore.
So I started reading posts and researching a lot to gather information, what was crucial for my growth.
I discovered that you need to try and keep your RC levels high enough in the beginning. To post, interact and engage. I needed to recharge them, what took 5 days, in the beginning.
But that wasn’t that bad. I spent all this time reading more and more, and enjoying life 😉
What was next:
I joined in this time also some communities I knew I would like to post in and interact with.
Like ART, PHOTOGRAPHY and SPECIFIC COMMUNITIES (like Ladies of Hive etc.)
Once my RC was up I started posting again. YEAH!!!😎 Thoughtful though… this time. Just one post, a few comments on replies and maximum 10 upvotes. To not drain my RC level.
I also found that a few communities have challenges and contests. I JOINED them for my next posts. Like: #fungifriday, #streetart /CCC's StreetArt Contest, #wednesdaywalk and #photofeed.
Through them I found like minded people and started interacting with them. It was a warm welcome from all.
I engage with them almost on a daily basis.
I didn’t want to tag them all but just let a few know 😉 and say…
I’m happy you are here and I enjoy our conversations a lot and I have been learning from you all along the way.

A little bit along the way:
I started earning some rewards on my posts now, slowly but steady.
It all was growing, I noticed, when my account started growing. AS YOUR ACCOUNT GROWS SO DO YOUR EARNINGS and you do help the community grow along the way. Don’t forget that. You add value to the community too.
So don’t be lazy… If you want to grow you have to work for it.
With the above, it is very clear… WHAT YOU NEED TO DO, TO GROW YOUR ACCOUNT: YOU NEED TO ENGAGE.
As much as possible…
But how you ask:
Find the communities that speak the most to you, where you would like to connect with, identify yourself with and post in. So that Engaging becomes easier.
That way you gain followers too, through engaging and just joining in.
When people see you are engaging they will start to notice you/ remember your NAME.
As did @taskmaster4450le, I started making comments in Leofinance and on his posts, after I discovered the LEOFINANCE COMMUNITY MID JANUARY.
We started talking about diverse subjects, but always related to his posts, Leofinance, crypto, the future of the market etc. Some were through the Daily Leo market talk. (check it out)

Back on topic 😉
During our conversations we talked about account growth. And that you can grow through ENGAGING.
At that time my account was just at 103HP in mid January 2022.
I could engage, but not enough to grow more. He wanted to help me out and Delegated me 50HP a few days later, so I could “engage more” as I had no Delegations at this point and needed to be careful not to drain my RC. It helped me so much.
The day he delegated, my HP was 130 already.
We discussed that if I do my best and work hard, I could grow my account 2,5x 📈
So we agreed I would keep track of it for a month and post my progress after.
That was the trigger for me writing Todays POST!
@taskmaster4450le inspired me along the way.
My personal goal (I had set mid January) became: to grow 2,5x.
Then is Now: so let’s have a look.
My growth in a month and basically what I achieved in 70 days that I am active on HIVE.
‼️ I didn’t just grow my account 2,5x in that month, but 4,14x in the last month.‼️
(From 103 HP to 427HP)This is just soooo great… you can’t believe how HAPPY I am 😁🤩

My next goal is to reach 550HP and the next level up: to become a “MINNOW”
I don’t want to sound but I believe I could reach this goal before my account is 3 months old 🎉🎉🎉

So let’s see if this is possible. 😇
The big jump in my graph you see btw. is from when I joined my first PUD and I am “still” in my first PUM challenge. That’s why I haven’t powered all my Hive up yet. I power up 1.1 Hive each day and I post everyday during the month of February.
During the PUD I received a delegation as a price, from one of the sponsors of 100HP for the duration of 3 weeks. Thank you @fionasfavourites as you see I used it wisely.

If you look at my Hive wallet you see I Have some Hive and HBD /Hive in savings too, a few conversions (7HBD) are also still on it’s way.
I could have reached probably 550 HP already… but I put some of my earnings into savings. With such a large APR of 12%, why would you not?
(I haven’t bought anything so far, my wallet consists only out of earnings/ rewards for my work.)

Let me tell you how I see my Hive account now after a few months; It’s like building up a business, I understand the possibilities, what is needed and how to grow. I learned so much the last 2 months…
Even if it looks hard, something like being afraid of heights as me, you can do it… if you really want and put some effort in it.
What I wanted to add is the following, it does get harder to grow an …x, the larger your account is. So keep that in mind, use this information while you are still a newbie… and engage plus built.
