I agree that the social media is becoming an increasingly powerful force in modern day society, but I disagree with the observation that it makes the separation of power obsolete. The separation of power governs how a democratic society is run, the social media influences, at most, some of the legislative power when making law. They work on different levels in society.

When the day comes that social media companies hold enough power to dictate how a country is run, instead of being a mere influencer, is when we really need to be worried. Perhaps that day will come when social media is actually the government in disguise, or it may never come. Who knows?
