Even if there are no stocks or securities for sports as such, financing in sports is still crucial:

• Much of professional sports involves subsidies from various levels of government
• Media-related contracts (Internet, television, radio, even print);
• Contractors for various services need to be paid;
• Employees directly connected with the franchises or teams need to be hired and paid;
• Then there are the athletes and staff who wear the authorized uniforms (or managers who wear their typical suits or uniforms);
• Marketing costs money, but it also helps to bring in more money;
• Collectibles and memorabilia never stop;
• And we didn't even get into the cryptocurrency aspects of sports, which is admittedly in its infancy.
