I've been here nearly 2 months. For at least the first month I felt I was in Siberia: posting content but not having anyone around to see it. Part of that is not knowing how things work here. Part of that is not knowing where to spend time. Whatever I was doing, I wasn't getting visibility. I needed eyeballs.
I stayed away from Leo Finance because I had other ideas in mind for what I wanted to write, and also because I needed to find a niche where I felt OK enough to contribute.
When my 2nd month started I decided to lurk in Leo Finance for a bit to see what kind of posts were being posted. When I noticed that a wide variety of posts and topics were posted at Leo Finance, I found some posts where I could comment and eventually I found topics I felt comfortable enough posting.
Shortly after engaging with people on Leo Finance my earnings shot up dramatically. I still wasn't getting the visibility I expected when I joined, but I began to see that Leo Finance was a place where I could accelerate my growth as a writer and as a contributer via comments and upvotes.
When I saw the success I was having at Leo Finance I tried the same thing at Proof of Brain. Same results: more visibility, more eyeballs.
In the case of Leo Finance, another way to boost visibility is to comment and reply on the daily post Leo Market Talk. It's a text-based chat-like environment where responses are quick (for a web page).
Just posting to the personal blog won't be enough. For me, I didn't start seeing progress until I joined tribes which had good levels of engagement. I'm looking for a couple more tribes I could join where I can contribute content and earn tribal tokens along with Hive.
Comments and replies are just as important as posts since they help boost visibility. For some people, that's all they do and that's OK.
My biggest point of frustration was RC Blowout since I found myself out of Resource Credits periodically. Once you find a way to become more visible and you get eyeballs on your content, the upvotes will come and the feedback will follow.
At some point, earnings will occur; then they occur more often; then they become greater than before. It's a matter of time, numbers, and strategy. Finding a place with good engagement is vital, and it's no accident that Leo Fiannce and Proof of Brain are two of the most active tribes on Hive. More are out there, we just need to find them and see if we fit with them.
I'm sorry for the length of this comment, but when I read your comment it reminded me of my own situation the first month I was here. My second month has been better, and it's looking like Month 3 will be an improvement on that.
