Happy new year to you all ! | My season rewards openings with 54 Champ level chests
What’s up my fellow Hivers!
Well, we all have come together to another year end in hive and I wish you all a warm and fantastic New year 2023! I guess most of you are enjoying the last day with your family and friends but for me, I am getting pretty busy with my marriage which is just 16 days away! Yes, mango is finally getting married on Jan 17 next year and it’s time to say good bye to my freedom and bachelor life. Needless to say I will be offline from mid January for a couple of weeks as I have also planned for a honeymoon to surprise my wife. Both of us never watched snow ever so we decide to go to the north Sikkim State. It is an adjacent state to us and covered with mountains pf the Himalayan range so there’s high chance that we can experience real snow fall in this peak winter time. However, as I still have 2 weeks left before the 3 - day marriage ceremony starts, I will keep playing and posting before I take my long break.
Now, moving on let us now talk about the last splinterlands season and I hope many of you don’t know that it was the 101th season in splinterlands ranked since the game launched in 2018. I am a very old player in this game and most of my assets are in this game, mainly in form of cards and other tokens. Looking back in time, I joined the game empty handed with just an account and some cheap level 1 cards, but only after playing it for a couple of days, I kind of getting addicted with it’s gameplay style and uniqueness. Back then, there were only a ton of slot and gambling apps were there in the name of crypto games and the #web3 wave was long away from being viral. I also joined the old hive only a month or so and was hardly earning anything with posts and playing. But still, I started unvesting whatever I generate all back into the game and thus started growing slowly. Well, the journey is still on but with this long time of playing and of course, taking some right decisions at right time, I successfully grew my account from Novice to Champ level and I enjoyed every but of it. No doubt, even in these darkest days of crypto, this game is making me earn few bucks to survive the dip.
The last season, I ended up my season by reaching the Champ II tier somehow and stopped playing immediately after getting exactly 4,200 trophies. As usual, due to the heavy playing in the last day, The ECR also got drowned below 20% so I didn't take any risk to move any further and with a fat amount of 54 season chests, I started waiting for the season end timer to hit zero so that I can open these Champ level reward chests and try my luck one more time. I shared the outcome at below.
As you can see from the screenshot above, this time the overall rewards were pretty average and even less than what I got in the past one. The best 3 reward chests among them pulled me a chaos pack, a hold foil rare card Venari Wavesmith and an Epic card Djinn Renova and all rest carried only commons and some rare cards. Not to mention that in this season, I also got very little amount of SPS, only 274.5 in total and every one of the SPS reward chest were carrying either one or two digits of SPS balance. I also received a bunch of leg and gold potions but after opening them all up, I was feeling sad for not pulling at least one with 100+ SPS, considering I was opening champ level chests.
But let’s not permit it to ruin my mood in this festive time and in the above screenshot, I shared all the rewards outcome that I pulled this season and also the total SPS earnings from ranked battles. Maybe the Splinterlands team have reduced the reward distribution so that it helps to recover the SPS price by creating some demand. Or it can also be that I was just very unlucky this season with the reward pulling. Either ways, I will continue playing Splinterlands ranked in next season as well and will hope for better rewards than this one.
