It is difficult when one is mixing home remedies with medicine because getting the right dosage correct can prove difficult.

Just last week, my mother, who takes diabetes medication put herself into a diabetic coma by fasting, taking a home remedy AND taking her medication. Luckily we are in a place where we can call paramedics to our home and get help.
