ListNerds - The Importance Of Staking CTP

As part of my journey on ListNerds, I want to share some of the things I've learned to help others. Today I will talk about CTP staking and the benefits of staking CTP in ListNerds.

One of my core ListNerds goals is to build up a stake of around 5000 CTP. The reasons for this are that having CTP staked will increase the number of votes that you have in ListNerds.

This is important because it will give you more influence on the platform with regards to being able to upvote or downvote more emails. There is nothing worse than viewing emails and not being able to have a say on whether it was good or not.

Combined with other factors such as having a large enough vote weighting. This will be helpful in making you successful in ListNerds and approving emails that you think are good and downvoting bad ones. This means that those adverts that are not so good, will not share in the rewards pool and give more ListNerds tokens to those who do produce good emails.

Earning CTP

According to the whitepaper, 60% of CTP rewards are sent to RECEIVERS that have voted email messages. Therefore it is important that when you are reading emails and earning your MAIL credits, you can also upvote and downvote emails to participate in the CTP rewards distribution.

CTP is a Hive layer 2 token traded on Hive Engine where there is an active market for buying and selling.

Voting Power

Each vote that you make costs you 25 voting power and 25 CTP = 25 voting power. Therefore to get a reasonable amount of votes each day would require around 2500 CTP staked which equals 100 votes.

This is because voting power regenerates at 20% per day and therefore this should provide you with around 20 votes daily provided you use up all your voting power.

My own personal goal is around 5000 CTP because I would read more than 20 emails daily and would like to vote on them.
