It is a lot of pay to win at the moment. I'm hoping that over time they bring in more grind to win aspects that can combine your cards with skill. Having a few side games that allow you to earn magic cards from purely skill based efforts rather than buying everything.

There needs to be increased rewards for the lower tiers and private tournaments for novices so that they have a fair chance to earn. At the moment there are too many rewards floating to the top when we need to expand the userbase.

Potions are no good to noobs unless they get to sell them.
