Trump railed against the amount as too low and called for $2,000 checks instead, prompting House Democrats to push for an increase.

When and if the Senate will consider the measure is uncertain.

The Senate Democratic leader, Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, announced Monday that he planned to try and quickly pass the measure in the GOP-led chamber through requesting a unanimous consent agreement, which can be blocked by any senators who opposes it.

From what I understand, this is a no fluff deal and it is only asking for the increase of payments from $600 to $2,000. If I am wrong here, someone please correct me.

Trump earlier blasted the GOP and Dems for only sending $600 of direct monetary support to Americans. Following his words, the house Democrats quickly put together an effort to increase the payment to $2,000.

I have no idea what the GOP lead senate will do with this. A part of me wants them to get it through into Trump's hands, but another part of me knows it's a bad idea and principle and it shouldn't be done. :P However, these are hard times and the government is the reason for many of these businesses not being able to stay open. So, I guess some people really do deserve it.

At the end of the day though, who cares? The US is already in unsurmountable debt for generations. What's a few billion more here and there right?

I know mine will go directly into crypto whether it's $600 or $2,000. If I could purchase more with crypto, I'd completely end my dependence on fiat monies.

What are your thoughts? Do you think it will make it through the senate?
