Like others here on Leo Finance and Hive I started using noise.cash a few weeks ago. It has been a great introduction to microblogging and expanded the base of people I interact with on both Leo and Hive. I even played a small part in helping to onboard a new user so it has been a pretty positive experience so far.

When you sign up for noise.cash you have to provide a bitcoincash address to receive your BCH rewards for tipping and posting. The address looks something like this:

In the interest of getting started without downloading any more wallets I decided to use a bitcoincash address from my Atomic wallet. It worked fine and I started accumulating BCH in my wallet for tipping and posting. After a couple weeks I had around $6 dollars worth of BCH in my Atomic wallet and was looking to move it somewhere to start earning some interest. I decided to open an account with Nexo and and start moving some coins there. The transfer went fine but the fee was almost 30%. Yikes! Very unpleasant. :)

I read some other posts about how other people were handling the situation and there was no lack of wallet combinations being used. I wanted to dig a little deeper and see if there was a way to add the BCH directly to my Nexo wallet. I pushed the "Top Up" (receive) button in Nexo and got this:

Reading the above it looked like there might be a way so I Googled the highlighted portion and eventually ended up here:

Once I put in the Nexo legacy format address it automatically provided a cashaddr address.

I took a copy of the new cashaddr address and saved it in my noisecash wallet. I did a test by tipping someone in noisecash then went to my Nexo transactions and waited to see what would happen. After about 10 minutes I had a pending BCH transaction. An hour later it had been approved. It looked like it worked so I decided to let it run through the night. This morning I had over 20 approved transactions in my Nexo BCH wallet so things appear to be working well.

This action may not be news to a lot of people. For me, as a noob, it was a great learning experience and gave me some confidence to figure stuff out on my own. I now have all my noisecash rewards going directly to my Nexo wallet and have eliminated an extra step in making that happen. In the end I was only risking a few cents so it seemed like a good decision but I will need to keep tracking things to make sure.

Please do your own research and don't risk anything you can't afford to lose. As I said I am a noob and I make no claims to how this might work in your situation, so reader beware and proceed at your own risk. :)
