There's more than pension

As a decent "house father", I am saving a lot every month for my future pension. This all comes from my wages. And I must say, if I keep this tempo up, I will have a decent pension. But there is one big problem with that. You only get that paid out when you're 65 years old. At least, that's how it works here in Belgium. Now, I am only 41 years old yet, I want to live in between those years too. And I have a feeling, those are actually the best years of your life. At least, that is my opinion. So what do I do about it?

Mutual funds and Hive and LEO

I have made another savings plan in which I deposit a decent amount every month, into a mix of funds. I check it out every now and then, and it grows steadily. Of course it dropped in value last year, but what didn't. But Dollar Cost Averaging is doing it's job too in this one. As every month it gets a fresh load of money. But my biggest plan is actually Hive and LEO.

My account here on Hive grows pretty decently every month, actually, every single day, and I get some extra LEO every day too, because of curation and because of delegations. And I really have faith in this. It actually doesn't cost me anything, except some of my time. But it's time that I like spending. It makes me smarter every single day. But my account grows with over 3000 Hive every year, without posting, so with posting, my stack grows in between 6 and 10k Hive per year. For now. At this rate, I will have a pretty damn nice "savings account" in Hive and LEO by the time I am 45. And that is not so long anymore.

So, I consider all of this, a pre-pension plan, to give me extra wealth in the not so far future. Not that I am on time schedule. But, hé, everyone just has to do the math here. We are printing money every day, just by being active on this blockchain. And that is without even considering the true value one Hive in the future will be. Because it will happen, the day that Hive is worth 5 or 10 USD. So, you might as well make sure, you have a decent stack by the day that happens!

Happy "savings" people!

Sincerely,
