It's true, there's a lot of media hype around the metaverse, and they're not explaining to people that at this point, technology still falls short of everything the metaverse will entail and be. That is to say, it is as if they do not understand that many developments of technologies and applications will have to be created and implemented before the metaverse becomes a reality.

And what's more, they don't understand that at this point we're still so far behind in the development of the metaverse that it's kind of like an abstract concept, or something that we barely have any idea what it's going to end up being.

But the reality of things is that it seems to me that everything is a matter of marketing and sensationalist promotion of the media, that is, it seems that they try to promote the idea only for marketing purposes and to gain an audience for their content on the subject, without explain to people the true dimensions of what the metaverse will become. In any case, they seem to care little or nothing what the metaverse will be, and meanwhile, they spread unrealistic exaggerations that seem to be taken from the craziest science fiction movie; and spread it as if it were an imminent reality, that we are about to to witness

Sure, a lot of that stuff that we now think of as hype may actually make it part into the metaverse, but beyond that, the point is that it's not something that's even close to happening right now. Because what is very clear is that, as you said, we are light years (or even decades) away from the metaverse becoming a reality; but what is even more undeniable and interesting is that as time passes, we are closer to seeing its effective materialization.

I really liked reading your article. Thanks for sharing. Greetings.
