What seems advanced today will be laughable in the future

It is a known fact that we are in the age of technology. Everywhere we see the advances of our era, such as computers, smartphones, electric cars, tablets, smart watches, smart appliances, and countless other advances. In the field of means of payment we have cryptocurrencies.

The era of technology that changes very quickly

It is also a known fact that technology advances very quickly nowadays, making it almost impossible for us to fully adapt to the rapidity of those changes.

Because although in the past (in past centuries), technological changes existed, they were less frequent than the level of changes that we have today. To put it in perspective, when the horse cart was invented, humans spent centuries using it as it was invented (or with very few variations), before other types of vehicles were developed. Another example, when the plane were developed, it was a long time before most advanced planes were developed.

Many examples can be given on the subject, but I think the point has been made clear. The point is that technology is advancing faster than ever today, and although we hardly have time to adapt to it, we must always try to be at the forefront of the changes that are taking place.

For example, no one would think of using a cell phone from the early 21st century (2001s) on a regular basis today, because those phones were very basic and primitive; Which brings us to the main point of what I'm talking about today.

Technology is smart, why aren't we too?

Today's technology is smart, shouldn't we be too? We should buy, manage and use the technology that best suits our needs, right? I say this, because today we see smartphones advancing at an amazing rate, and with the prices that these latest technology devices have, and with all the features that they are capable of providing us, it is usual that we want to acquire them.

But what we must always keep in mind is that technology advances too fast, because human inventiveness is infinite; so I think that although we should always try to be up-to-date in technological matters, we should not become excessively fanatical about the matter. Because many times we are so busy wanting to have the latest and most expensive technology and we do not stop to think about which technology is best for us in terms of the features that we are actually going to use; because the latest equipment technology provide thousands of different functions, but which of those are the really essential ones for us?

Based on this, we must select the level of technological device that we buy. This is where the ranges of technological devices come into play, so a device that fulfills thousands of functions may seem the most desirable at first, but it is precisely due to the quality and quantity of functionalities that it can provide; that it will be much more expensive than lower-end devices that sometimes can perfectly serve us to fulfill the functions that we fundamentally use on a daily basis.

What today seems advanced, tomorrow will be laughable

We must also remember that beyond what a device may cost us, and how advanced it may or may not seem to us today; all technology of the present moment will end up being a laughable thing in the future (within a few years).

Do you not believe me? Take for example the computers of 5 years ago and compare them with those of now, there is simply no point of comparison between the power and functionalities offered by today's computer equipment with respect to those of that time.

The same goes for just about anything technological we can think of.

I mean, anything that seems too good to us today in terms of technology will end up being easily surpassed in a few months or years. And what's more, the latest technology of the present moment always ends up being much cheaper in the future. Because the change is norm today.

This is why I say that all technology of the present moment will end up being a laughing matter in the future, because I, for example, laugh at the cell phones that I had at the beginning of this century, especially because I compare them with the quality and level of the technological equipment that I manage at this time.

The same can be said about almost anything technological today. I give you another example; When pendrives began to hit the market (many years ago), I bought a 128-megabyte one... It's a laughable thing, when today we have flash drives that exceed 8 Gb and sometimes even more.

I give you another example; the first computer that I had, I acquired it in 1997; and I remember well that it was the most advanced computer at the time. However, when I remember that said computer had only 4 GB of hard drive and 16 Mb of RAM, I was amazed at how these computers could work with such little abilities; but it's because I compare it with the fact that today, any portable hard drive has at least 2 Tb of capacity, and any cell phone today has tons of times more capacity than that computer I had.

Of course it is also something relative, because as I already told you, that computer (the first one I had), was the most advanced of its time, and it made the computers of previous decades look laughable in terms of capacity, usability and features. . That computer made the computers of the 1950s look like buildings of metal that came from very old times. LOL.

Cryptographic technology: One of the exceptions to the rule

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are among the few exceptions to the rule, because both will continue to be important and increasingly respected and appreciated in the future; although, they will continue to advance by leaps and bounds at the development level.

The fact is that cryptocurrencies serve as a secure means of payment, which will always be essential in this world. For this reason, we can be sure that cryptocurrencies will not cease to be something current, and for this reason, is that I, personally, invest so much time, effort and money in crypto and in blockchain technology; because both have a deep and intrinsic value, which will transcend the centuries. Yes, it is true, and I understand that fact

Cryptocurrencies as a technology are, as I said, means of payment that are turning the traditional financial system upside down, and teaching the world what money should be. And the blockchain, for its part, is innovative, because it has an infinite number of potential applications to be used in this world in the most diverse areas.

So cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology will never be a laughing matter. Both will always advance, but they will never be obsolete, because the whole world needs it, because of its inherent characteristics, and because it should be that way.
