How has Crypto and Blockchain Technology Impacted my Personal Finance.
Before I start with my personal story I will to thank @theycallmedan for this initiative and the very apt use of the tag cryptofinance. Whoever in the blockchain is using crypto for their financial need or planning for their financial future.
How I learnt about Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency?
It is in December 2017 when Bitcoin hit it's ATH my office colleague told me about it. He himself is a Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency investor and was checking his mobile after every few minutes. I just asked him what he is checking so frequently? He told me about Bitcoin , the price move BTC is making and he is just excited to check about the value of his investment. I understood the price and market gains BTC is making but will it move like this in future too?
How I started.
First thing I do after coming to home to research about amazing Bitcoin that has just doubled within a month and made enormous gains after it's inception. I always found 2 side, one said it is future tech and other said it is ponzi. One said it is future money, other said it is just a bubble that will burst. I decided I am not more going to read all social media news instead I will read from books. I read "Mastering Bitcoin" and "Mastering Blockchain" that convinced me it is sound mathematical cryptographic function that governs it and it is really a people money and is decentralized in nature. I also come to known about other cryptocurrencies existing in market.
Buy vs Earn.
I got the confidence that I should pay attention to the crypto sphere but I found that the legal regulation in my country put in not recognized category.(It is neither legal ,nor illegal in my country) . I want to be in this journey but finding it hard to put my savings can deemed illegal. Finally I got the idea, let me earn it for my financial future without diverting my income. I guess first I landed in faucets and ultimately I liked the idea of earning by content creation. So it is start of my Steem Hive journey.
Game earnings for me phenomenal.
I used to play mobile games like "Clash of clan" and "Game of war" . Since I not spending money as such in these game, I got stuck and finally uninstalled them too. I was shunning the game for too long when some success stories of Splinterland's caught my attention. I started wit $10 started pack and invested other 30-40 dollars. What is amazing that my $50 investment in playing SL is now worth more than $2000 in cards, DEC and booster packs. I am also making 7 cents rental income daily that comes to $25 a year which I say is very nice for $50 investment.
In accumulation mode.
I am accumulating all my Hive, stacking it up and side by side I am accumulating the tribe tokens too. I am not spending any of crypto earnings and using my fiat to manage my bills.
Long term goals.
When I say long term ,I really mean long term like 20-25 years. I think I have accumulated enough at that time in Hive that my journey will be transitioned to Author to curator. Learned enough on my subject to be called subject matter expert, guided enough user to be called as community leader. It will be generating enough income so that I do not worry about money once I retire from job.
Community Engagement
Currently I sponsor the Hispanic HPUD delegation for the Prize winner in Hive power up day. I also put my part of HP to my country community account indiaunited. I am in strong belief together we all can achieve financial freedom in coming days.
This is my story, it is more of working for future financial independence by taking relevant action today.
