I was having a hive discussion with another person I invited into hive few days ago. While trying to explain how to use the hiveengine, I realized that we get newbies everyday on hive, who found hive without the help of anyone. So who do they ask questions, the discord channel is there, but some of them don’t know they can use the discord channel.

But let me use the opportunity to teach you how Hive Engine works and what it is. In my own opinion Hive Engine is an Hive platform that give hive users access to building on the Hive Blockchain. It can also be used to swap/sell your hive blockchain token into Swap Hive. For instance, it is used to swap your POB token, Leo token, lassecash token to Swap Hive.

To use the Hive Engine type in the hive-engine.com { HiveEngine}on your browser and go to the website. You will be taken to the platform below.

Click on the Grey colored stripe below the HIVE ENGINE logo. You will see the below image.

When you see that, click on sign in, input your Hive name and posting key to log in. After that, you will the image below, showing your hive name.

Click on wallet, so you can see all the tokens in your wallet.

Click on the gray stripe below *HIVE ENGINE logo to remove the tab so you can see your wallet properly. Now you can see your wallet properly and everything on your wallet.

Your wallet shows your token, the worth of all the token on your wallet, the amount of tokens staked and unstaked.

When you click on the “i” icon there, it shows you all the information you need to know about the clicked token

When you click on the arrow icon, it takes you where to buy or sell or swap your tokens for SwapHive.

First of all to buy any token through Hive Engine you need to have SwapHive. Your Liquid Hive on your Hive wallet is not SwapHive. So all you have to do is click on the Deposit icon to withdraw your liquid Hive from hive blog wallet to Swap Hive. You will Be charged a 1% fee for this.

Now you have SwapHive, you can swap/ buy or sell with SwapHive.

This is the important part, if you want to buy LEO token with SwapHive, this means you are selling your SwapHive for Leo token. So you go to the sell orders when trying to buy Leo Token to check the list and preferred price you will like to buy your Leo token with. The sell orders has a lot of different prices for Leo token and quantities of Leo token the sellers are willing to sell their Leo token for SwapHive.

When you choose your preferred price and quantity, you come tho Buy Leo area and input the price you got from the sell Orders and the quantities of leo. Don’t be confused by the sell order for buying Leo token and buy order for the selling of token. when you want to buy a Leo token, you need to buy it from a user that wants to sell their Leo token. This user that wants to sell their Leo token, will place a sell order, so you are selling your Swaphive for Leo token, the user is selling their Leo token for SwapHive. That’s why you need to check the sell order when trying to buy Leo token.

Same goes for when you want to sell your Leo tokens. when you want to sell a Leo token, you need to sell it to a user that wants to buy Leo token. This user that wants to buy Leo token, will place a buy order, so you are buying Swaphive with Leo token, the user is buying your Leo token with SwapHive. That’s why you need to check the Buy order when trying to sell your Leo token. When you check the Buy order, you will see different buy prices users are willing to pay to buy the Leo Token.

This goes for every other token. It’s not just limited to Leo.
