Encountering New Rules....
Being able to play in Splinterlands with players who are able to utilize different strategies under different circumstances gives me chills. This usually happens in upper leagues and often in brawls. Usually in brawls if you end up with a good guild you will get flourished with unique combinations. Of course, this does enhance your own gameplay thus another combination of game play opens up to get stored in our mind. This incident happened with me as I was playing in the last brawl. Since, I am still getting used to different abilities and rule sets, I sometimes end up making some silly mistakes. Which later on does helps me to get used to the latest rule sets or abilities.
My recent brawl performance was not up to mark! I was not expecting this surprise in my battle field and in addition, I was sort of hurry to end this brawl. Which is why, I ended up in a mess in few battles. Although, the overall guild performance was great and we ended up in a nice position.
A battle which sort of strike me real hard. The new rule set and the combination of monsters ability was off the mark! This is one of the example of which a player can learn from the opponent.
Combat Rule
The game is of 18 mana. With three specific rule set. Born Again: All monsters have the re-birth ability Counter Spell: All monsters have the the magic reflect ability, What doesn't kill you: All monsters have the enrage ability.
I was facing the Born again, rule for the very first time. Although, I have been reading contents of various authors who were sharing their expertise about this rule set and analyzing this rule, to make the best utilize of it. As I said, I was in a hurry and I went out with the usual format of my gameplay. In this format, I went with

As you may see, my battle play was with Death Splinter. I was under the impression, even if my `Cursed Windeku` dies in the battle, it will born again and will do some additional damage with thorns ability to my opponents monster. And next in line I wanted to bring an a monster which has speed and some melee damage in its forte. I brought in `Silent Shavi` which will take care of my opponents monsters. As I was expecting some ranged attacks from my opponent. And last but not the least, `Life Sapper` as I was expecting the life leech would give some additional benefit for me in this battle.
Coming to my opponents battle strategy, I was really impressed! I may be exaggerating the issue but so far this has been one of the best strategy that I have seen under this rule set. Also the monster that have been used also defines some additional merit for the game play. Using venari as tank and initializing the marty affect for Grum Flameblade was the first strategy. Due to the rule set of `Born again`, the Martyr affect came gave an additional impact on Grum. Resulting it, to reach a melee attack of 7 with nothing but MARTYR. Not to forget Enraged did a splendid job in increasing its attack and speed. At last comes the bloodlust ability. It took the game to a new level. Making Grum reach the melee attack of 18 and speed of 12. Now it is indeed unformidable.
Furthermore, this battle was an epic one. I finally saw the magic rule set in battle. In addition a quite useful way have been discovered to make the best use of this rule set and the abilities of other monsters as well. I lost this match but an additional set of strategy has been added into my game play. ___ Playing in tournaments and brawls gives some opportunities to get to know different strategies of other players. Which makes not only the player be a formidable one but the one being payed against also gets to share the knowledge and utilize this strategies to become a better one.
