The fundamental problem is this -
Most of the people like me with decks worth the low thousands has bought a little bit land for personal use.
Most people I know who play the game with decks worth less than $1000 have absolutely zero interest in buying land.
Most other people can't afford it.
Most new people would look at even $10 for a plot and think 'WTF'? No way!
It's only a bargain if you're crypto-blind to the dollar price like most players are because we all got in with our 'free' Steem.
The only way LAND speculators are going to profit is if there's a crazy crypto pump - but then EVERYTHING will be going nuts so who knows - your LAND money might have been better off diversified in risky shit coins.
I think my own strategy of buying around 20 plots now is about right.
Of course this all depends on how the LAND is developed - I don't envy the team, it's a real balancing act, they could very easily piss a lot of people off if they get the mechanics wrong.
