A Challenge For Leo and Hive: Refer Your Friends!

Leo is booming (up 16% as of me writing this article… EDIT: Back down to down 2% as I continue writing LOL), Hive is booming (up to around 30 cents from the 20 cent point I bought in), LeoFi is on it’s way, bLEO is coming, Cub Finance was just announced… There is a whole lot to unpack there.

That being said, I have never seen such a large amount of selling points for a product. With so much hype coming up around the platform, it becomes easier and easier to get ‘outsiders’ interested in Hive and Leo Finance. When a consumer/user is looking for a product to buy/join, they are seeking something that meets an unmet need or desire. The psychologist Abraham Maslow came up with this chart in order to express the basic human needs:

The idea of DeFi and the decentralization of media fulfils the needs relating to safety and security. With DeFi, the risks of the banking process shift over towards the individual. The power is taken out of the hands of outside institutions and governments and people are able to control their finances and investments with complete transparency.

With decentralized media, your data is monetized for you and for those interacting with you rather than allowing one central organization to profit on that data using targeted advertising. Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency completely changes the way we conceptualize security of data and Hive is finding itself to be the perfect solution for these security issues.

With these selling points in mind, I have been able to onboard 3 of my friends. This may not seem like a significant number, but none of them were really previously involved in any type of cryptocurrency and this is their first foray into the field.

@omarallabadi @mahartman16 and @ssundaram have all joined the ecosystem and used Probit exchange to get an initial investment into their accounts. All of my friends are college students and all of us have some type of interest in economics or business as expressed by the four years of mind-numbing classes we have sat through to pursue positions in the field in some way.

I am happy to have them onboard and I was able to convince them to join by making them aware of all of the innovations that both Leo and Hive are coming out with. All three are interested in the idea of curation to create value and all believe that the Hive token will follow with huge gains in the coming months. Feel free to give them a follow!

Though we don’t have a referral scheme, I think that if we can all get one friend to join every week or so, we can grow the network exponentially with time. This would end up helping everyone as the more network involvement we get, the more powerful the community will become.

I would like to propose a challenge to the community:
Onboard at least one friend every 14 days, and shout them out in a post to help them gain traction on the site.

Think about it, if the network had a consistent growth of 2 users a month joining from each existing account, we would reach huge network involvement numbers in just one years time. 1, then 3, then 9, then 27, then 81, then 243, then 729 and so on.

I think that the Twitter recruitment efforts by people such as @nathanmars have been fantastic, but we are overlooking the easiest recruitment network ever created: your personal friends, and then their friends, and their friends, and so on. Let’s see what we can do to bring more of our network onto the network that we all believe in and want to see grow consistently!
