For one reason or another I found myself having an incredibly funny conversation last night with a few people about bridges. Stemming from a conversation about if it was possible to drive from Athens to Bahrain, we discovered that there are some ENORMOUS bridges on our planet. Ironically noticing that the Leo Bridge is coming out, I thought I would write up a fun post about these bridges and compare them to our newest addition to the Leo Finance ecosystem.

For variation, I'll only be discussing bridges that serve as roadways for vehicles rather than high speed railways. The largest bridges are technically all in China/Taiwan as railways. Those railways are insane though, check them out if you get a chance.

The five longest drivable bridges in the world:

#5 Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway Main Link in Kuwait: This bridge is 36,140 meters long and was completed in 2019

#4 Jakarta-Cikampek Elevated Toll Road in Indonesia: This bridge is 36,400 meters long and was completed in 2019.

#3 Manchac Swamp Bridge in America: This bridge is 36,710 meters long and was completed in 1979.

#2 Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in America: This bridge is 38,442 meters long and was completed back in 1969.

#1 Bang Na Expressway in Thailand: This bridge is 54,000 meters long and was completed in 2000.

Now if you ask the question: What is the most important bridge in the world? We just may find that it could be the Leo Bridge (though our bridge is not technically "large"). Being able to swap from ERC-20 to BEP-20 provides the link between the two largest DeFi ecosystems like nothing ever seen before.

This could be the start of something big for all of us. The utility involved in communicating between two blockchains, if done correctly, could be the propellent to push web 3.0 forward.

Don't burn bridges. Build bridges. When a bridge is built, never sell it! (Not financial advice, but don't do it).
