... rarely is there an "easy button" solution, so therefore it too often gets passed over. Sometimes to be addressed (maybe ... one of these days ...) later. Sometimes with an unyielding "not doing it!" attitude leaving us to fend for ourselves.

Unless competition compels these teams to do otherwise ...

My "bare minimum" solution lays squarely on the shoulders of Ledger to perform what to me (I do have some programming experience in my background) is a basic requirement of the app upgrade process - *preserve your customer's settings!

Very expensive (from a time point-of-view) lesson, but we live and (hopefully) learn. And go on!
