Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters are very effective in battles, and when fighting against Melee Attack Monsters they usually attack the first position. Those with the Sneak Ability, the Opportunity Ability, and the Scattershot Ability can attack outside of the first position, but there are a total of 17 Magic and Ranged Attack Monsters with these abilities in Splinterlands. And there is the Summoner Conqueror Jacek, who gives the Scattershot Ability to all friendly monsters. All Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters except these attack the first position when fighting against Melee Attack Monsters.

  • Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
  • Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
  • Scattershot Ability : Ranged and Magic attacks hit a random enemy target.

I've been trying the LOBB LOWLAND and KATRELBA GOBSON combos against Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters lately and they really do well in battles. When used with a good strategy, they can win almost more than 80% of the battles. I prefer this combo when I feel that the opposing player will prefer Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters in battles over 35 mana. I would like to point out that they are not very successful against Melee Attack Monsters. And if the opposing team doesn't have Monsters with the Sneak Ability, Opportunity Ability, or Scattershot Ability on the opposing team, I haven't lost a battle with this combo so far. In battles over 35 mana, when I feel that the opposing player will prefer Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters, I choose Lobb Lowland as the Summoner and put the high health Melee Attack Monsters in my team's front line and put Katrelba Gobson behind them. And indeed this strategy works very well in a lot of battles. I will share my two battles about it, I hope you like it.

LOBB LOWLAND is a powerful Summoner that reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by -1 and allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.

Source

KATRELBA GOBSON has the Bloodlust Ability, the Sneak Ability and the Double Strike Ability at level 1, the Snare Ability at level 5 and the Cripple Ability at level 9.

  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
  • Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
  • Double Strike Ability : Monster attacks twice each round.
  • Snare Ability : When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss.
  • Cripple Ability : Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.

I love Bloodlust, Sneak and Double Strike Abilities and it's really cool that Katrelba Gobson has these abilities from level 1 onwards so it's one of my most used gladiator cards. Because Katrelba Gobson has the Bloodlust Ability, she becomes much more dangerous in battles as the battle goes on. By putting high-health monsters on the front lines of the team, I put Katrelba Gobson behind them and allow Katrelba Gobson destroy enemies one by one with brutal attacks, a strategy that works really very well for me in certain battles. My KATRELBA GOBSON card is currently at level 4 and I can't wait to upgrade it further.

BATTLE 1

Battle Link

Battle Ruleset
Up to Eleven
Armored Up
Even Stevens
Only Fire, Earth an Death splinter can be used
Mana Cap 59

  • Up to Eleven rule means all Monsters have the Amplify Ability.
  • Wands Out rule means all Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
  • Even Stevens rule means only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.

MY STRATEGY

When I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player before starting the battle and considering the rulesets of the battle, I guessed that the opposing player would prefer Magic Attack Monsters in this battle. Honestly, the opposing player's Magic Attack Monsters were stronger than my deck, and I thought I couldn't win this battle with Magic Attack Monsters, and I should have determined a different strategy to win the battle. I believed I could win this battle by putting high health monsters in the front lines of the team and with Katrelba Gobson's powerful and brutal attacks. That's why I put monsters with high health in the top four lines of my team, putting Katrelba Gobson in fifth position. And thinking that it would be advantageous to have a Monster with Tank Heal Ability in my team in such a battle, I added Goblin Psychic to my team and put her in the last position.

  • Tank Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Battle Link

The opposing player teamed up with a strategy very close to my prediction, and frankly, the opposing player's strategy was pretty good. Frankly, if I had chosen Magic Attack Monsters in this battle, I would have lost this battle because I could never win this battle against level 5 PRISMATIC ENERGY. Frankly, it was wiser to opt for Magic Attack Monsters in a battle like this, as all monsters have armor in this battle.

In the first round, the opposing team was attacking quite effectively and destroyed the monster that was in the first position in my team. Since all monsters have armor, Katrelba Gobson was unable to destroy any monsters in the first round.

Round 2

In the second round, the opposing team continued to attack quite effectively. Spirit Shaman with Stun Ability wouldn't even let the monster in the first position in my team attack. But Katrelba Gobson had destroyed a monster from the opposing team and her stats had increased and she was getting much more dangerous.

  • Stun Ability : When a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has a chance to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn.

Round 3

The opposing team destroyed another monster from my team in the third round. But Katrelba Gobson was getting much more dangerous, destroying her targets with brutal and powerful attacks, and her stats continued to increase, making her even more dangerous against enemies.

Round 4

At the start of the fourth round, Katrelba Gobson had 5 Melee Attack, 5 Speed, 6 Armor and 6 Health and was indeed much more brutal to enemies now and it was very difficult to survive her attacks. Katrelba Gobson almost single-handedly swept the opposing team.

Round 5

In the other rounds, it was almost like a repeat of the previous rounds. And Katrelba Gobson was getting more dangerous after each round.

Round 6

Round 7

Katrelba Gobson almost single-handedly destroyed the opposing team, and indeed her attacks were brutal.

The battle went on for 7 rounds, Katrelba Gobson gave a really great performance in this battle. She almost single-handedly destroyed the opposing team. My strategy worked pretty well in this battle and my team managed to beat a pretty powerful team. I recommend watching this awesome and challenging battle in the video or battle link so you can see how effective the LOBB LOWLAND and KATRELBA GOBSON combo is in certain battles.

BATTLE 2

Battle Link

Battle Ruleset
Even Stevens
Holy Protection
Only Earth, Life an Death splinter can be used
Mana Cap 39

  • Even Stevens rule means only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.
  • Holy Protection rule means all Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability.

Divine Shield Ability : The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player, I saw that they have quite powerful cards. Considering the ruleset of the battle, I guessed that the opposing player would prefer Magic Attack or Ranged Attack Monsters. That's why I chose the LOBB LOWLAND and KATRELBA GOBSON combos without hesitation in this battle. Because this strategy of mine works well against both Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters. And my strategy was very similar to my strategy in the battle above, so I won't mention it again.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Katrelba Gobson was also very effective in this battle, and her attacks became more powerfully and more brutal as the war continued. This battle was almost like a repeat of the battle above. In this battle, the battle took a little longer as all monsters had the Divine Shield Ability. Used with good strategy, the Lobb Lowland and Katrelba Gobson combo works really well, especially against Ranged and Magic Attack Monsters.

Katrelba Gobson's final hit was truly admirable.

When Katrelba Gobson started the battle she had 3 Melee Attack, 3 Speed and 4 Health, when the battle was over she had 9 Melee Attack, 9 Speed and 8 Health, revealing how dangerous she became as the battle continued.

BATTLE RESULTS

MY OPINION

It shows how effective the Lobb Lowland and Katrelba Gobson combos are, especially against Magic Attack and Ranged attack monsters, when used with good strategy in the two battles above. That's why I prefer this combo in battles over 35 mana and I can win many battles thanks to them. But I can say that this combo and my strategy I mentioned above against Melee Attack Monsters has not been very successful. I would also like to point out that monsters with Sneak Ability, Opportunity Ability, and Scattershot Ability can break this my strategy. But other than that, it's a strategy that works very well. So when I feel that the opposing player would prefer Magic Attack or Ranged Attack monsters, I use this combo and the strategy I mentioned above. And when my guess is correct, I can win more than 80% of the battles.

What are your thoughts on battles? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
