So I've been using the Binance Exchange since it started operating. One of the first things I thought was interesting way back when was that you could pay much lower exchange fees by purchasing the Binance Coin (BNB) and using this to pay any fees. So back then it cost a fair bit of BNB to do exchanges because BNB only cost around $0.50c each. I am not sure how many BNB I burnt through over the past few years in exchange fees.

Well with the rise of DeFi and my decision to HODL for the long haul across the crypto winter, I haven't really used Binance for much trading lately. So to my surprise over the past few weeks I have watched BNB push higher and higher on the back of the Binance Smart Chain, reaching over $300 today.

I thought I'd better log in and see if I had any BNB sitting in my account, not expecting too many. To my surprise I found 1.5 BNB (not too much) hanging in there for some fees. Now at a purchase price of 50c to it's current price of close to $300, that is a 600% increase...... and a nice little surprise. So did I drop that BNB and cash out? No. I can see this rocket continuing to rise closer to $1000 possibly and at a purchase price of 50c I can afford to sit and wait!
