Afternoon everyone….

Today I’m going to take a break from showing off some shiny. After all it is #sublimesunday.

Instead I’m going to show you a piece of furniture. This piece was for a client that I’ve done tons of work for.

They might be my longest clients that I still do work for. I did a kitchen in their first house over twenty years ago easily.

Their son Brian was a toddler when I did the kitchen. He’s now married with two children of his own. So it might be closer to thirty.

They moved to a bigger house once they were expecting their third child. I did that kitchen as well.

They downsized right before covid after everyone had moved out on their own. When I say downsized, it’s still a fairly large house. It’s just not the 4,000 plus square foot house they had.

The new house still is four bedrooms and my guess would be just under 3,000 square feet. Probably in the 2,700 range is my guess. And yes I have done plenty of work in it already.

They have very specific taste in moldings and how each room should look. I’ve done a bunch of molding and panel walls already. Also a complete rip out and replace of a fireplace mantle and surround.

I have not yet done this kitchen. Only because they are undecided on exactly what they want to do. They want a bigger bathroom downstairs, which would mean relocating the washer and dryer area upstairs.

So they are contemplating the project.

Instead I was commissioned to build a black walnut coffee table for their den.

I turned this….

Into this….
