Hello, SPIer's. Here's something I dont get asked anymore. What if I (SSUK) were to rug you guys and take all of SPinvests funds. What safeguards are there in place to stop me? are at least make it a challenge for me to steal all your monies. I have written about this before, in fact, a few times and nobody seems to mind. It looks like I've gained a lot of trust among internet people that dont really know me. Who even knows if we really hold BTC? are ETH, are RUNE and any LP's at all? Maybe you guys have been paying for my lavage lifestyle for the past 2 years and I'll keep this going for 20-30 years like my main man.....

Changes are coming

When I first launched SPinvest, I was a man on a solo mission. Since then we've built a small team of investors that help toward producing content, gaming and maintaining some investments. The bulk of the funds are under my control and I were to get hit by a bus tomorrow, you can say goodbye to 95% of SPinvest's off-platform investments and the @lbi-token, @eddie-earner and @cublife accounts. My mate Welshstaker holds the keys for SPinvest but it's maybe time to prepare for the worst-case as SPinvest is much larger than just the SPinvest account nowadays.

I was off work from March 2020 and on reduced hours from August 2020 and this week will see me getting back to the 5-day grind. I have had a lot of time to track things, research stuff and help to produce content. Pre-covid, SPinvest was SPinvest only, no Eddie-earner account, no lbi-token, no cublife, in fact, we were still on STEEM when the first lockdown happened. Long story short, there's a lot more work required to managing SPinvest and its new subsidies so something has to give and it'll prob be content coming from me. The weekly reports are a must but when I look at the list of things needing to be done, content is not up there for me personally. Obviously, we what daily posts coming out of SPinvest to keep everyone informed but my time could be better allocated to managing investments. When SPinvest launched, I posted daily for around a year, I had the time as we had no investments to manage and content was our main source of income/growth and this motivated me. That time has gone and our growth will come from our investments, not so much content. Earning 1000 HIVE a week is $400. Finding a safe place to farm $20,000 of ETH could make more per week. My priority is not so much HIVE income anymore, it's growing SPinvest's umbrella and not losing money. We will always welcome new content producers with open arms. Content produces to get a small enhanced weekly div payment. I think it's around 20%ish extra.

So along with this, I will be looking into sharing some passwords, seed words and other things required to access SPinvest's treasures. I already have a few people in mind and their main responsibilities will be to not get hacked, not die before me and not run away with our funds. It's a passive role, basically a key holder for should I go rouge.

This is not easy as some funds are in my personal accounts that I have KYC'd, some require google authenticator and some require to confirm codes sent to email/phone to make transactions and others are set up with wishlist "withdraw" addresses to desktop wallets. This will not be an easy task and will require a lot of funds to be moved to maybe decentralized are offline wallets that can be accessed with metamask are seed words/passwords. It'll also not be something that will happen overnight are even over the course of a few months but it'll be a work in progress and putting a time limit of the end of this SPinvest year (47wks) would be the ballpark. It really all depends if the bullrun is still on are not. A few things will either be sold if the bullrun continues are we hold what I already have. If it's still on and we sell some investments, it would be a good time consolidate into new wallets/accounts.

I've been using Binance for SPinvest and personal stuff and as the numbers have grown from almost nothing to a lot, im starting to thinking about personal tax things. (Taxman - We see you sold 1 BTC at $200,000...where's that now?. Did you move it? anyways, taxable event so here's a $40,000 tax bill to pay). I dont think I would be using Binance to convert BTC to a stable token but long term, I would prefer to separate all of the SPinvests investments from all of my personal accounts/wallets. Up to now, it's not been a problem but I read stories of people that operate exchanges and either die, goes to jail are goes off the radar and then all assets are frozen in limbo not accessible to users/investors. Puff, gone like a fart in the wind.

There are many ways to do this. I like the idea of splitting up private keys/passwords/seed words into 3 or 4 bits so it requires 3 or 4 people to come together. Maybe 2-3 would be better because I can't think of 4 people, to be honest. We have trustworthy people but it's would be a big responsibility as well and would require the know-how to either liquidate or continue the fund and these are small numbers in investors.

Let me know what you think about this idea. I dont think many will have a problem with it as it sorta safeguards against my going rogue to a certain degree and fully if I kick the bucket. When SPinvest grows into a $10 million powerhouse, we'll go 100% legit, register, ICO and then pay some other fools to run it for us while we sit back and collect handsome weekly dividends. Im gonna an assistant and dictate my thoughts out aloud while I eat peanut butter cups for them to post to HIVE for me. Sorry, daydreaming again.

Thanks for reading through today's post :)
