Software has a lot of metrics in it. That is why it is absurd to push people back into the office. It is also why I am sure a Salesforce is not doing that: they built a lot of management tools into their platform.

There is no reason other than generational that managers wont accept it. Although companies should start to realize they really dont need all those middle managers either.
