That is true although I think we can attribute the part about people hating their jobs to the system we are mired in. While science and technology advanced, our system is still mired in a mindset from a few hundred years ago.

The economy is based upon scarcity, hence we operate from a maximize profit perspective. At the same time, there are many who still espouse the "Protestant' work ethic. After all, if you are not working hard, you are not worthy. Leisure is something we seem to afford to only a small class of people. Everyone else is just lazy.
