I agree with you it is a big step forward with the fact this is being discussed. Instead of completely ignoring it, some attention is being paid. I also agree one of the biggest problems with crypto is that there are not use cases, at least what most people can see. Hence, to use your term, it is a casino to them. They look at crypto like stocks or commodities.

As an aside it is also one of the reasons why I do not believe Bitcoin will ever be used as a currency since the velocity on that is nil (not that other crypto is much better). People simply look at it as a speculation item.

As for those I hive, it is time to alter the trend. You are right in the areas holding this thing back. Fortunately, it is taking on a multi-faceted formation, offering different layers to the system. This is the strength in my opinion.

Will this work out? I do not know. Obviously, the HBD concept has failed up to this point. You might be correct that it is a secondary layer need, not a base layer. However, at least with a move in this direction, some experimentation is possible.

Once something is out there, it can be altered. So far, HBD was released and nothing since the day the blockchain went live.
