It took a whole month to finally get these little Beautiful gold and silver Eagles in my hand.

This photo was from a stacking contest I had on the Steem blockchain, if you look close it is my profile picture on Hive and Leo Finance.

This was the first time I ever paid a higher premium for any gold and silver. I purchased these the few days before the physical shortage started heating up with all the wall street bets happenings.

Why did I do this?

Well, I was looking to grab some last-minute silver before the #wallstreetbets crew jumped on the silver bandwagon. I have watched the retail silver supply for years and I knew it was just about to get very hard to find silver at a fair premium to spot very soon. While I was looking at the Eagles I wanted, I noticed that the graded ones were not that much more than the regular B.U. (brilliant-uncirculated) coins.

That is when I decided to diversify my stack with some graded coins and I picked up 1 ounce of gold and 5 ounces of graded silver coins.

Here is this awesome new Gold Eagle!

The 2021 MS-70 Early Releases Gold Eagle is graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), one of the world's largest grading firms, which certifies these coins as completely perfect, granting them their MS-70 rating. 'Early Releases' signifies that NGC obtained the coins within the first 30 days of the release date of the 2021 gold eagle coin. For an indication of just how rare an MS-70 rating is, only 6,334 of the 191,000 1 oz Gold Eagles minted in 2018 were certified as MS-70

The 2021 silver eagles have a new design on the reverse, it's like the old half dollar with a big eagle on it, here is the obverse side.

And a look at the new reverse side with the famous Heraldic Eagle.

I also picked up 4 graded coins from the San Francisco mint, they usually have a lower mintage. I felt that the first year of the new design may be more collectible, that's why I bought these graded ones.

So now that I can look back and see that even though the price of gold and silver got smacked down this month, my graded coins held up fairly well considering. I think I will keep diversifying my stack this way for a while. I already have a lot of regular gold and silver coins, rounds, and bars. What do you think? Is it worth it to buy graded coins?
