We have some tribes but they cost a lot to set up and even more to add any real features to. A basic tribe still isn't suitable to most people as it involves a messy onboarding experience, multiple keys and a struggle to learn how to operate on any of the sites. While we have lots of tribes we haven't seen an improvement in the basic issues of user experience and marketing.

I'm hoping this will change when we have an SMT like solution. My gut says it won't be "SMTS" but some other form of token support and smart contracts. Then we can try to get the next Gods Unchained to use Hive.

For me a tribe would need a light account for new users until the find their feet.

This can already be done on a project by project basis. DLive had "light accounts" years ago. From what I have seen, I don't see "light wallets" happening any time soon if at all. With RC pools, I think this will be a moot issue.

Multiple sign-up options. Facebook, email, google, twitter as standard.

While LEO has this, I know HiveOnboard has been very receptive to adding similar options for HiveOnBoard which would extend out to any service that decides to use it.

You say that leo has gotten external exposure but they are the only ones who went out and made some. They created products that appeal to a wider audience and then went to existing social media and created a presence. Look at their twitter game. They are also preparing to launch a marketing campaign for cubfinance which will get people to take notice but i have not seen any other tribe make an effort to promote.

Agree 100%, but they also have a very unique advantage. It is a niche that is common with every single user on Hive. While STEM (My own tribe) is more popular in the real world, there are very few on Hive who actually care about STEM, where as everyone here cares about making money and crypto, that's why they are here in the first place.

Also every thing done for Leo is related to the niche. For example, if I made a Liquidity Pool and Bridge for STEMGeeks, do you think anyone in the outside world would care? If I am onboarding Science and Technology people, it has nothing to do with it and they wouldn't care. People on Hive would care, because it is related to their "niche" of being here, but in terms of STEM it isn't even remotely related and if I got Students, Professors, Scientists, Engineers, they wouldn't care less about those things. Yet those are the things that are needed to grow a token. If you think about this, it makes sense how Leo has a huge advantage.

As for most of what you said, I agree with just not as easily done as said.
