Just when you think things are going great

Some sort of financial issue has to through us off guard again. It was about a week ago when I read @bozz's article about his financial situation and recognized the feeling all too well. For as long as I can remember, things are going 5 steps forward when all goes smooth, and getting kicked back double the amount of steps whenever things feel like they're going too smooth. Of course, I could have seen it coming this time as well.

The car we bought has a lot of hidden problems

Things that have been covered up quite nicely and with an excellent motor inside the car and hell of an interior (never had a car with an interior this neat before), we could have known some major issues were hidden below the surface. The first thing we discovered was the battery of the car, but that was solved as soon as we replaced it. Some rust here and there wasn't instantly concerning until we found out that the car needed to be checked by a company before registering it to our name. Oh well, that was quite the surprise. They thought it may be a stolen car (yay), but not to worry, if so, we can fix that! (WTF?)

In the end, after further examination, the car wasn't stolen, but after placing it on the bridge and showing it to my boyfriend, it was clear that we bought a car filled with holes on the bottom. It was not making me feel very confident to start driving that's what I remember. Luckily, I managed to get over that and drive it without hesitation now, but the sounds the car made while steering and while using the clutch didn't feel too great.

It's not easy trying to get shit done here

If you don't speak the language and especially not if you happen to talk to a local at the wrong moment (read: they are already annoyed, tired or any other reason that doesn't help their mood). This is been the biggest stress factor here, and probably the biggest reason we wish to leave next year. Just for our personal stress level alone it's better to be in a country where you can communicate properly and this language, it's just not going to happen. I just don't get it and I guess I never will.

After months, I found a garage nearby

YAY! Finally let's get the (by now) beloved car fixed because it has to be done before fall when rain takes over, a rusty bottom just doesn't like that wetness, and I wish to keep my feet warm and dry in the car. So the car was brought in this morning, honestly my boyfriend had no clue what they were going to check and if they understood him, fingers crossed. Eventually, they called a few hours later, he went there, he didn't really get it, luckily a translating friend could talk on the phone. He said, forget about the car, it's defo not worth fixing he mentioned like 10 major issues and this will be too expensive.

Two rubbers at one place in the car that caused the weird noise, were going to be fixed today, cost about 100 bucks including the check. Shit, especially when you know you're going to part with this vehicle as soon as we can, it feels like a waste of money, but on the other hand, I don't want to have an accident.

One picture of the car was shocking

My boyfriend managed to take a picture of something under the car having to do with the steering was bad! It was half gone thanks to, again, rust. That's it, this car gets a name today: Rusty! Damn you Rusty, why are you failing on me after I was afraid to drive for so long? You and I, we have history now, don't you dare to break down on me before I can replace you!

This will be a fun search again

I'm really not looking forward to this, the communication thing with these car dealers is cringing, on top of that, they don't have the best reputation in general, but when not speaking the language, you get it. I was told that this would be my task, finding another car, checking if I trust the car dealer AND see what kind of trade-in price we are looking at as our car motor is working like a charm and should be at least worth something.

Crypto down, all money into paying the credit card off

I can't do much currently but writing my ass off see how I can contribute to this huge cost hanging above our heads again. I would like to avoid using the credit card again, but realistically, the kid needs to be brought to kindergarten again daily from September and it needs to happen with a safe vehicle, once fall arrives well, we just don't want to drive this one anymore. Realistically, just weeks after paying off this debt, I don't have a piggy bank to purchase another car. I can be on a budget and be strict, but I can't make the money magically appear. I wish!

I have faith the solution will come

As we have been struggling with much bigger things in the past years, this is just a hurdle, but it feels like quite a big one at the moment. Probalby because I don't feel well physically currently, I picked up a nice cough that my little lady brought home from kindergarten, which is now at the worst today, so I will just sleep on it and look at the issue again tomorrow. For now, the car should be safe to drive for a while, assuming that 6 weeks time should be enough to get from A to B and find a new car. The finances on the other hand, well, not sure how to solve that part yet.

The only thing I can currently do, is stay on the same track as I'm now, step up my game where I can and take the opportunities as they come. My boyfriend can't do any more than he does already, so I will have to figure this one out.

Oh well, at least it's WEEKEND! Have a good one!
