I received good news yesterday. My Apple Card increased my credit limit from $2500 to $3500. Earlier this year, my credit limit was $1800 until the last increase in June. You can read more about my Apple Card strategy here.

The $2500 credit limit level is within the credit limit tiers I mentioned in the previous post about the Apple Card. The next credit limit increase tier is at $6000. Then, the next two levels are $7500 and $10000. My goal is $10,000.

Change of Plan

The method of securing increases is easy enough, make at least 20 transactions per month. Put as much of my regular spending on the card. Wait 90 days to request an increase. Presto. Despite the simplicity, I'm going to have to modify the plan.

Currently, I am trying to secure the sign up bonus for the recently acquired Hilton Honors Aspire Card. To get the bonus, I need to spend $4000 within 3 months. So, that's going to tie up most of my spending. Instead, I'll have to put 20 small purchases on the card every month. There are a few items, like my auto insurance and electricity that do not accept American Express. These will continue to charge to the Apple Card. Otherwise, I'll mainly need to use the card at vending machines and other small purchases.

Once I earn the Hilton sign up bonus, I'll go back to the original plan of putting heavy spend on the Apple Card in order to secure credit limit increases. The next time I qualify for another increase is mid December. If not, then I'll be able to request again every month until I get one.
