I was just checking my emails and I got one from westminsterinternationalshop.com informing me that the Royal Mint of UK has prepared the designs for the first UK coins to feature a portrait of... His Majesty King Charles III on the coin obverse. Lol.. His majesty ๐ Sounds so wrong.
Anyways, that was fast, not even a month since the undead Queen died ๐
To be fair, they don't look that bad!
I am not much of a Charles fan and the price for the silver pieces is imo ridiculous...
Still, if you are interested they are available for preorder.. If you are in a hurry though you will have to wait while:
The Royal Mint has advised us that this item will be ready to despatch in February 2023

It's funny though how one of the two coin designs prominently features queen Eli (twice!).. poor Charles, still living under her shadow ๐๐๐
The reverse features a design by John Bergdahl and The Royal Mint, with two new portraits of Queen Elizabeth II
As for the second design:
The reverse features the 1953 Coronation Crown design by Edgar Fuller, modelled by Cecil Thomas
Once again Eli stealing the thunder from Charles ๐

Me, I am not interested much so no, especially at those ridiculous prices. I am sticking to the good ol ones with Eli the sexy.
