For many of us, knowing bitcoin or understanding cryptocurrency is a major breakout of knowledge. I can still remember how I saw bitcoin in an ad on a website where I earned Vitacoin back in 2011. Many people are still fighting with understanding blockchain and cryptocurrency, even after 12 years of innovation and many countries adopting it.

I did not find blockchain and cryptocurrency; it came to my path (2017). I was searching for a job during the period, and I was close to getting a job at the UAE embassy in Nigeria. If I had gotten the Job at the UEA embassy, I am sure I will not be here today writing or posting on Hive. I would be busy with embassy work and will not have found Bitcoin when I did. The Job would have also been paying me well, but I think at this point in my life I am happy I found bitcoin early and how it led me to write and be a developer.

There is a popular website for searching for jobs in Nigeria called Jobberman. I set up my profile on it and applied for a couple of jobs. After a few weeks, I got a notification for an interview. I went, and I got employed. It was a business that does things around blockchain and bitcoin. That was how I got to know about blockchain and bitcoin, but not deeply. I struggled with many things until I joined a class to get the full knowledge.

There was no Binance. Binance started in 2017 but not very early. I remember Binance started gaining attention during 2018. The leading exchange then was Bittrex. The tutor showed how he doubled his investment in trading on Bittrex within one month and how we can use Bittrex and make some good dosh. I used Bittrex through 2017 and 2018, but everything became boring when Binance started with their juicy system. Bittrex was too inclined to their way and never really improved well. I still use Bittrex till now but on a few tokens. The fame of the exchange also drops. I think the management needs to work harder. They are fading out like Nokia.
