Splintershards (SPS) Airdrops swapped for SPT: Splinterlands content Curation or "ONEUP: SPT" LP?

Splinterlands, the most cross-blockchain compatible game in the world is an amazing card game built on the Hive blockchain. Three years and counting, the game is still evolving towards a stable, sustainable play-to-earn option that would make many to attain financial freedom. Over the last 141 days, holders of SPlinterlands assets have been receiving daily airdrops of Splintershards (SPS) which is the official governance token for Splinterlands.

Though I've not been actively involved with Splinterlands, I hold some 36,000 Splintertalk token (SPT) which is built on hive-engine for rewarding Splinterlands contents. Being a Second layer Curapreneur on Hive, SPT was added to my curation portfolio due to its prospect being linked to Splinterlands. WHile I was concentrating on how to make the most of my curation returns, I discovered that holding SPT staked already qualified me to receive some tangible amounts of SPS on daily basis.

SPS was created for the following purposes:

  • to serve as the official governance token for Splinterlands game;

  • to empower players to participate in the evolution of the game;

  • to allow owners to influence the direction of the game in a wide variety of ways such as creating proposals, voting on gameplay options and reviewing new third party applications that support the splinterlands ecosystem;

  • to grant owners access to special promotions;

  • to serve as a cryptocurrency within the Splinterlands ecosystem;

  • to allow owners receive extra rewards from promotions; and

  • to allow owners have a voice towards shaping of the future of the Splinterlands game.

Today, I looked up my SPlinterlands wallet and discovered that I had unclaimed 14.473 SPS airdrop rewards. I decided to claim and then transfer same to hive-engine where I can do some more conversions into a token I can profit from. Since I am not actively playing Splinterlands, keeping the token is not really profitable for me. I decided to convert it to SPT token so I can diversify its investment for greater rewards.

The 14.47 SPS was swapped to 820.22 SPT tokens. I am glad that I will be able to diversify the SPS rewards into a more profitable investment option. A few options I have to utilize my SPT from SPS airdrops are as follows:

  • Stake them to increase my share of receiving more SPS airdrops. This would also allow me to earn curation rewards from rewarding #splinterlands contents out there.

  • Add them to liquidity pools. Presently, there are two SPT pools (with SPS and with ONEUP). ONEUP: SPT Pool presently yields 393% APY and liquidity providers receive ONEUP, LVL, and WINE as Liquidity provision bonus.

Looks like adding to my SPT dieselpool is more profitable but I need to earn some more SPS in the over 200 days remaining for SPS airdrop.
