Kanye West is buying Parler! Wen HIVE?

You can hate him but the man has a drive. I would say he is crazy most of the time but Oh well...

Kanye West, the controversial entertainer and supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has agreed in principle to purchase the right-leaning social media platform Parler, according to Parler.

This happens just after he was banned from Twitter for making anti-semitic comments,

What is Parler?

Launched in September 2018, Parler has long touted itself as a free-speech Twitter alternative

According to Similarweb, the website had 1.3mn visits in August which is quite small to be honest.

Parler app was banned from the appstore following the January, 6th events.

Nevertheless, it resumed service on February 15, 2021, with added content filters. Apple added it back to its store on on May 17, 2021, and Google on September 2, 2022.

They raised $16mn recently in a Series B

Interestingly, Parler launched its NFT marketplace DeepRedSky in March. I imagine we should see more NFTs and partnership with Kanye going forward.
