Yeah the first step to making a living as a blockchain gamer isn't the most exciting. Technically the first step is buying a laptop or a pc which we have already done. If you are going to play a lot of games that are out you will a machine that can handle them (though they are not too graphic intensive yet) and for anyone who doesn't know you cannot play these games on a chromebook or a tablet. I tried to download a couple and I did not get very far.

The first blockchains I'm going to get into are Ethereum and Enjin. Wax and BNB are on my list too but since all the games I want to try first are on the eth/enj chain that is were I will start with. I want to get a wallet like the hive keychain with a user friendly extension I have so that I can easily access it when I need to trade items.

ETHEREUM

For this I went with the metamask. It is one of the most popular ones with years behind it so I'm sure it has the support behind it. This wallet is also very user-friendly and as I have a lot of games to try and figure out and lot of in-game markets to understand this is a good option for me. For those of you who use chrome you can get the extension in the top right bar of your browser so you can access it on the fly.

Enjin

I was able to add enj to me metamask (it is on the ethereum chain) so I will use that for now and see if I can get what I need out of it.

I'm going to skip an important step right now which you will need to do if you are going to get into blockchain gaming is have an account where you can buy and sell crypto for fiat. This can be biannce but it is depends on your region. I might just swap some hive or find a new service for my country when I'm ready to start putting money into games.

Before I did anything else I BACKED UP MY WALLETS in case something happened to my laptop. If you're gaming assets go up a lot you will really be stressed if all your wealth is tied to one laptop. I heard people with 100k is Axie's alone (which is insane) but being in crypto for years this is not a surprise.

Next I will need to make email account dedicated for these games. I don't know how necessary this will be but it is good to have. I know Wax uses an email and a lot of games might need a sign-up before you get started.

Alright that is the boring stuff done now let's get to the gaming!

The next post will be about my first game that I chose because apparently there is no cost to start and they have a side chain to trade the cards on.

Game 1: gods unchained (Ethereum wallet that uses the immutable side chain)
