This is what happens when 24 hours isn't enough...

Have you ever noticed that dividing your day into hours can be overwhelming? I mean if you think through all you have to do in a day and allot an hour to one task, 2 hours to another, 5 hours to something else and so on, it almost feels like 24 hours is never enough.

Over the past weekend, I felt stressed about all I had to do this week. As an obsessive planner, I thought through all I needed to do every day, like; post at least twice a day, attend classes, make out time for schoolwork, ensure I'm active on the Hive Naija community that I just took control of and still engage on posts. Through these activities, I allotted 2 hours twice a day for posting, 5 hours for school, 2 hours of Hive Naija activity, 2 hours of school work revisions, and 2 hours of engagement.

This left me with 9 hours of free time every day. Adding 6 to 8 hours of sleep to the list, I had less than 3 hours to myself and I felt weak even before the week began.

Has this ever happened to you or am I just strange?

I think so far, this week has been quite an interesting one because I decided to drop my fears on Monday morning and just do what I can when I can. So far, the only thing to have suffered from my to-do list is my engagement on other posts.

I stopped thinking so much about what I needed to do and I just did them.

At some point, I felt I needed to speak to someone to gain clarity, maybe it helped, I don't know. I was talking to a friend about everything I needed to do and yeah, he wasn't listening but hearing myself say everything out loud made me realize I could just wing it and see the outcome.

It's still just Thursday, but it has been a successful week as far as I'm concerned and I think at this pace next week is going to be better. Who knows, I might just make out more time for engagements, but I doubt.

I'll be sending my laptop out for a minor upgrade on Sunday so things might just move a lot slower until I get it back.

I got a laptop with only 2 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM and right now, I need more space and my phone is a lot more useful than my laptop on that angle.

No, I did not just get it because it's purple (although, yes, that was an added factor), but I initially just got it to blog and write, and I had the intention from the onset to change the ROM, but, you know, laziness happens.

So, I'm having a friend who isn't lazy to get that sorted out, finally.

Do you work better by allowing time to tasks? I realized it doesn't work well for me. I'd rather arrange what I need to do in my head and then take up the next task once I'm done with the first one.

As always, I'm a control freak, so I control what I can. Time isn't one of them, so why not control me?

French School was really stressful today, I felt so overwhelmed with everything going on and I became so anxious and then I felt afraid.

It's one thing to know how things are supposed to be said in your head and then opening up your mouth to say it and something else comes out. I hope tomorrow will be better. I really can't wait to achieve my goal of flirting with a French guy. With the goal in mind, I get back to work.
